Big Bad VooDoo Daddy has been around for 19 years and all of the members of the band have been involved since the beginning. These guys can swing!! If you are at all interested in studying Jazz from the early 20th century you have to see them.
Not only are they great musicians but incredible showmen as well. They give you a sense of what it was like during the era of the big band performance. I've never seen a dance floor at Chastain Park before - but they had one on what a great time it was!

The smaller venue was perfect! The music was varied and kept our feet tapping the whole time. The talent on that stage was incredible! What a sax player! And that lead singer, can he sing! He is liquid movement in shoes!
The whole era of the 30s thru today was right there!
Our group had 2 different generations, ages 30s and 50s, and both thought it was so much fun. Not the typical "Silent Night" holiday concert. It was fun and definately a great time! Very refreshing!

i have been a fan of BBVD for a number of years, but had yet to see them perform live. they FAR exceeded my expectations! each of the 9 performers were extraordinary, and every song was unforgettable. they started the evening with a true jazz version of minnie the mooch, sans the cheesey audience echo at the end. and the show just kept getting more intense with each song. the energy level was nonstop. the horn section was incredibly tight but fun, the rhythm section was one of the best i have ever heard. and the front man kept the show moving expertly. as our local paper wrote the morning of the show: "go ahead. try and sit still through the show. we dare you!" i DOUBLE-dare you...

This is the second time we've seen them in Atlantic City. THIS time, we made sure to bring friends with us to show off our good taste. They were not only glad they went, they used the word "amazing." I've been to a LOT of concerts, and I'm pretty much a METAL fan, and I've SEEN some GREAT concerts, but THIS band is NOT to be missed. The music, the outfits, the stage presence, the FUN. Can't beat it. Among the TOP FIVE I've EVER seen live. Would see them AGAIN in a nanosecond.

The band was awesome. I had heard them live in November when they did short sets in Epcot. To hear them jam for an hour and a half was awesome. My feet and hands are still tired from clapping and stomping!!

Great show. Amazing, these same guys have been together for 20 years. I hope they have another 20. Can't wait to see them again. The venue was great too. The Showroom at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City. Nice 500 seat venue with comfortable seats and plenty of legroom.

The band was teeming with energy, and every single part was amazing!! First trumpet has mad skills, trombone and second trumpet and the saxes had so much energy, flash, bounce and powerful sound! The conducting was cleverly disguised as smooth dancing, and rhythm/bass sections perfect bounce and energy!! And of course can't beat his classic singing. Funny jokes throughout, high energy, LOVED the dance floor! Can't beat dancing with your friends or sweeties to their slick tunes. :)

My husband and I loved the show. So much entertainment and talent on one stage. The music is more incredible live than on the CD. The only caveat is the show was pretty brief. We drove 3 1/2 hours for a show that lasted under 1 1/2 hours. We would love to have seen more!

Awesome show!. It's great to see a show where the band actually had to learn to play real instruments, and they were great. I would certainly go see them again. I'm 50, my wife and even my daughters enjoyed the show.

BBVD tried to enliven a mostly aged audience with their blend of jazz styles. While the musicians aptly performed their fantastic arrangements, the energy level was one befitting of the crowd; a half filled theater with an average age of 65. They are in the middle of their tour, and it truly showed. Their 75 minute performance was mostly 'phoned in', and given that they have been doing these shows for almost 20 years with the exact same crew, it is hard to blame them for it. However, that was the big issue overall with the event; the guys were tired, and the crowd wasn't there for them to play off of.
