I simply enjoyed the Gospel Choir. They had me clappin, stompin, and I simply remembered as I do quite often why I fell in love with Jesus. Now the food was o.k. the peace cobbler which is my favorite needed a lil' help from heaven, but overrall both myself and my husband had a blast. They really know how to engage the crowd as well!!

I thought the gospel performance was invigorating., kept you on your feet as each singer did her/his performance. Anointed ! The food was tasteless and very bland.

I went to see this show with some relatives from out of town and I had heard really good reviews of this show. However, I was expecting it to be a little more intense. The food was not very good and the Choir did more talking than singing. When they did sing, the voices were incredible and it was really enjoyable.

The choir sang beautifully, but it was a little more fluff then content, the show felt abbreviated. The buffet was not at all what we expected. Plus it took a while to get through the lines only to get there and most of the food were gone, some items were replaced and some were not.... Overall it was a decent outing but I don't know if I would be moved to attend in the future.

The performance was absolutely great but it's too bad that the seats are squashed. The performance encourages everybody to stand up and dance but that is too difficult with such limited space between seats.

My wife and two 11 year old boys went 9/13, expecting a meager brunch but some "Amazing" gospel. While the large buffet offered plenty of good comfort food, much of the music was more popular / soul that foot stompin', church pew rattlin' gospel music.

The 70 minutes show was ~ 40 minutes music, 25 of sometimes slow commentary/stories/audience interaction by founder Alan Bailey, and a 5 minute film clip more about Michael Jackson that Gospel music. All in all, not bad, but not up to expectations.

The Harlem Gospel Choir's tribute to EWF was so powerful and inspiring. We enjoyed every single moment!!! Every singer got a chance in the spotlight to show their talents and they were all very different. They even pulled a stranger out of the audience to sing with them as they heard his soprano voice singing along - it was great!

Favorite moment: The last song - just watching the performers on stage, they were great. They had a former member named Mike up there (I think) and he was awesome. @

Setlist: I've already mentioned the only two songs I knew. Two of the songs had practically no words other that hallelujah. Note I am VERY familiar with black gospel music from my youth, just didn't know these songs and wasn't impressed with them at all. @

I was disappointed that there wasn't more gospel music that I knew. The only 2 songs that were familiar were "I Believe I can Fly" which was very well performed and "Oh Happy Day". All of the singers were really really good - but choice of songs was regrettable. People want to hear what they know - memories of gospel songs of our youth.

Location: From a small town in Southern Utah

After seeing some amazing things on Broadway I would classify this as "just OK". We joined about 300 other people in the basement of BB Kings. Had to wait in a line outside for about 20 minutes as they only sitted about 10 people at a time in groups. Two flights of stairs down and even though I asked about an elevator (I use a cane to walk) I was told by two different staff people that there was none. When I got to the bottom the young girl who seated us asked why I had not come down by elevator! Lined up for an OK buffet with more starch than good food and settled in for the "choir". The "choir" consisted of SEVEN people, all of whom were GREAT singers, but I don't think I would call this a choir. At least one third of the show was the leader, promoting his group, the individuals, his Cd's and charitable organizations and his church. The singing was great, but only about five songs. I don't think I would put this on my list for next trip, but it wasn't horrible either.

I had two European visitors who wanted to see a gospel concert. I do not care for loud music, and as a Presybeterian, like my church quiet. I had been waiting for my friends in the heat and by the time they got to the BB King...very late....I was growling!!

When we entered the cool auditorium, smelled the delicious food and met the friendly folks who would share our table, I calmed down. It was all organized and friendly in spite of the crowd. When the singers came out, and started singing I believe I can fly....I was deeply moved and when it turned into a frenzy, the Presbyterian was on her feet.....

This was an exceptional and stirring experience, It knocked out the bad mood and misconceptions that I had and I was energized for the rest of the day. Don't wait for European tourists to drag you there......Go Now! Totally worth it and Soul Lifting.

The show was great! There was lots of audience participation. I also was pulled up on stage and got to sing alone, as well as with the choir. Everyone should go and see this show; it will give your sprit a lift!!

You will not find this what you expect but you must find it. This was better than what we thought it would be and we came with high expectations. I am glad we got the regular show --- real gospel. Food is good but only second to the show.
If you want a Sunday that shines -- go and participate.

The Harlem Gospel Choir put on a great performance, the food was good and service as always was excellent. I took my mother and aunt there for their birthday's and they both had the time of their lives!! Every choir member had a beautiful voice and an infectious spirit...their life stories and encouraging words had everyone on their feet clapping and dancing!

This was not all that impressive a show - extremely tourist-oriented and actually not that much Gospel music. The $40 price for the meal and show is fine for NYC so not a bad deal - but keep your expectations LOW.

Concert was more interactive than expected. I loved getting to dance, clap and sing along. The voices were better than I have heard on American Idol. Each song was a different style. The only drawback for me was the amount of self-promotion between songs, it slowed the overall pace.
