One the best shows I have seen in along time! Neko was in form last night, with her gut wrenching, heart breaking and haunting voice being the great instrument that it is. Her and her band were amazing as well, the back up singer was funny during segways between songs told jokes and was being ornery, which the crowd enjoyed! I would recommend seeing Neko Case. She is well worth the money.

We were first introduced to Neko Case through the New Pornographers...she stood out from the rest. Her voice is amazing and her lyrics thought provoking! After hearing her at Bimbos in San Francisco, we were hooked and started buying her music. Second time we saw her was at the Warfield in S.F. here recently. While we really appreciated seeing her again, we didn't feel the venue allowed her to amplify and carry out her best quality, her voice. Or would that be the mistake of the Sound People? I don't know, but I was only bummed because I wanted her to be louder, and to fill my being with her voice the way she had at Bimbos.

Im a huge fan of Neko Case, so its always a treat to get to see her live. Her band was amazing and the venue was nice. I was hoping to hear a wide variety of songs from different albums, but she mainly stuck to her new album. All in all the concert was a great experience.

Neko Case is an exceptional talent with a voice that seems to get stronger with time. Backed by a strong supporting cast and great harmonies from backing vocals, the Neko show on May 30 was as strong as late spring showers. Her lyrical talents paint some great visuals which were enhanced by screen images displayed behind the band during the evening. It was a great show leaving the crowd looking forward to her next visit.

My job was swallowed up by the economic downturn. I rationaiized spending the money on this show by saying "I need the escape and the inspiration rght now, more than ever", so there was a lot of pressure on this night, for everything to go right :)
and it did. Once again, I was lifted out of reality and into the world that Neko creates on stage. Songs that cause complete strangers to turn to each other and say "oh my gosh... do you LOVE this??" Having Joey and John on this tour was bliss. I stood heel to toe wth a packed floor of both Neko and Calexico veterans and those who asked "who are those two guys opening? are they local?"
With a limited budget for shows, I choose carefully. I rationalize when I have to, but always hope to be transported for a few hours. Music is that magic carpet. Neko, is the ultimate navigator of dreams.

It breaks my heart, because I love Neko Case and Kelly Hogan, but there was something off at the show. Between every song, the band was tuning their instruments, and the stage talk, which was enjoyable at the last concert I attended, was excessive after a while. It just killed any sense of flow, having at least 30 seconds of tuning/chatter between songs. I am not sure what happened, because we didn't see anyone tuning instruments before the set, but I wound up leaving before the end. They'd played my favorite song, Margaret vs. Pauline, and I didn't think it would get any better than that. The songs themselves sounded great, but I hope the tuning situation improves for future shows.

I love Neko Case, I really do. And I love the Winery too, so I was pretty excited when I saw that she was playing at the Winery. Unfortunately, this was not a great performance. She had to restart one song and one of her guitarists was really off. She spend a lot of time doing a weird jokey stand up-esque routine with her back up singer, which would have been cute and funny, but it ate up WAY too much time. I saw her last year at the Bridge, and while she only did a short set, she really knocked it out of the park. This was really disappointing!

This venue is amazing...great for a summer sunset/evening concert. Good acoustics, seats comfortable, no bad seat in the house. Food and drinks primo.
Best of the show was the openingn act Calexico....they hit it out of the park. Neko and her band were great, her backup singer was hilarious and they all had good fun. Neko is a great songwriter with an amazing voice but as soon as you'd get into a song it would be over. They are very short like jingles almost. Overall the venue alone made it worth it and CALEXICO is worth becoming a groupie over.

Neko Case and Calexico played excellent sets. Neko sounds just like her albums. It's amazing how she has no production on her recordings. The venue provides great acoustics, and the views are breath taking, as the venue is situated atop a mountain in a winery.
However, be prepared for the rip-off of your life if you go to a show here. They charge $20 for parking and provide NO public transportation, walking paths, nothing for people to get to the venue without driving and paying their exorbitant fee. In fact, they do not let pedestrians even walk or bike up the windy path. Also, expect to pay $11-$19 for ONE glass of sub-par wine. My advice: get a carpool, yell at the attendants that what they are doing is illegal, hope they let you in for free, but if not, everyone pitch in. And don't buy anything. Enjoy the show!

Amazing show. Neko's voice is outstanding. She and her sidekick, Kelly I think, were very personable- cracking jokes and telling stories. They gave and shared a lot. Calexico was great, too. A highly recommended show.

We arrived for the full 45 minutes of Calexico after purchasing two very expensive small cups of wine ($13 each!) Calexico was great. Everyone seemed to get into them. Lead singer's voice awesome. Other band members extremely talented--loved the trumpets! On otherhand, Neko has a great voice and stage presence, but her music was all the same, and her backup band didn't add anything but noise. Way too loud! We left after several songs, agreeing it didn't do much for us.

The show was great...low-key, but that was to be expected! What I didn't expect, having never seen Neko Case live before, was how funny she would be!! I love it when artists talk to the crowd...and they rarely do that anymore. But Neko gave us all great attention and spoke in between songs a ton...I loved it!

Neko's live performances are not something you can accurately explain. You kind of just have to see that huge voice come out of that little woman. Her band is tight, he voice is spot on and frankly she's actually quite funny.
