I got there when the doors opened. The crowd was wrapped around the block waiting to get in. I was kind of disappointed. 7 out of 30 songs were some of their best songs the rest were so so. Too many from their2007 album including the final jam song. The light show was good and overall I had a good time but where were the good 20 songs that were left off the list?

I see people complain a lot about Isaac Brock's live performances, but this show was perfect. Banter was kept to a minimum and Brock seemed to be on the mark this time. The setlist catered not to the casual listener, but more toward the fan. They didn't waste time playing Float On or Doin' the Cockroach. There were songs from every album (though no songs off any EP), and there was 4 new songs played that evening. They opened up with King Rat, which was killer. Overall a very stellar performance by Modest Mouse. I would definitely go see them again if they were up to this standard once more. The opening band, Survive Knife, was also really good. The only thing that was mildly disappointing about this show was not he bands, but actually the people. I am a very short person and I cannot see passed your iphones, please be more considerate.

Watching Modest Mouse is one of the best experiences. I try to get tickets whenever they come to town. They are such a talented group of musicians. The members are constantly changing instruments. There are sometimes 6 people on stage, sometimes 10, depending on the song they are playing. Their talent definitely shows when they are on stage, and I can't wait for them to come to town AGAIN.

fox theatre is ...old timey and cool. it's also fairly small. I stood in the very back because the standing areas closest to stage were packed with concert goers. I'm not very tall and I get claustrophobic if I'm ever in a "packed like sardines" atmosphere. I wish I could have seen Isaac's face up close :( he is amaaaaazing. Overall, MM was INCREDIBLE. I can't wait to see them again!!!

They were honestly amazing. They played with so much energy, played about 20 songs, and absolutely tore the place down. A must see if you get a chance.

It was one of the best concerts ever. We were in the lodge area. At first, it was a little hard to get into because the sound was not that great; there were distortions and we couldn't hear the vocal because other sounds were too loud. We couldn't hear any of the words when they spoke. Another issue was the lighting in the beginning. The blue lights were shining from the back of the stage toward the audience. So we couldn't see the stage or the band and instead had to face the glaring lights. The lighting and the sounds got better as time went on.

Despite of these technical issues, the modest mouse was soooo good. They played with so much energy and coolness. They played nearly for 2 hours passionately all throughout the night. It was such an amazing concert and probably the best one evar!!!

Modest Mouse was so on-point and wonderful! The instrumentals were super loud and at times overpowered Brock's voice, but all in all they did an amazing job. They played a lot of older songs, which really got the largely older crowd stoked. I would recommend seeing Modest Mouse any day!

I love the band. I love the venue. The sound was awful.. The crowd was awful.. Techs were trying to make adjustments during and in between songs.. They were trying to switch defective pedals.. Move mics.. The band was overpowered by isaac's guitar.. Awful..

I agree with others about the sound quality, lack of audience interaction, playing too many hit songs. I had always heard their stage performances were average, but since it has been so long since a new lp I had to attend in hopes of hearing some of the new music they are about to release. For this reason I was not disappointed, terrible seats, an idiot who had to stand and dance in front of me the whole show (like Elaine from Seinfeld) even wasn't enough to "bum down my high". The two new songs they played were great, the second one (possibly named "Your Cut") was my favorite and will be a huge hit when released. The first song (Be Brave) was Modest Mouse classic and will also probably make radio play.
I hope to hear some more new songs from the rest of the west coast tour, which they say they're testing songs to see which will make the lp

I love Modest Mouse- their popular songs, those less well known, fast beats, slower tunes, the entire range... that made this even more disappointing! The band barely connected with the crowd and there were so many technical difficulties (which was surprising because the stage was set up for them in 20 mins after the opening act and then left vacant for another half an hour). After every song we waited in a minute-long lull while technicians rushed onstage and swapped out instruments, adjusted tuning, disconnected and reconnected wiring- all the while there was no interaction between the band and audience. It was all really distracting and there didn't seem to be any rhythm to the show- the entire show! We left before the encore because A) I hate encores (though I tough it out most of the time if it's worth it) and B) I was a bitter buffalo by that time. Glad I left- sounds like they waited 20 mins to come back out and play another mediocre set. Stay home and listen to your Modest Mouse records- you'll have a better time!

This show was unforgettable!!!!! The sounds the lights and the crowd were unbelievable. Issac really blows your mind away, his beautiful music and lyrics had the entire crowd swaying with their eyes closed. It was an event I will never forget, I can't wait to see them live again. My only hope is that they don't play "Float on".

Modest Mouse is one of my fiance's favorite bands, and she's never seen them live. I got tickets for our five-year anniversary as a special surprise.

I never should have bothered. The show was a complete waste of time and money.

The set list was good, and touched on most of their hits and popular songs, but the audio mixing was so bad that the music was almost unrecognizable. Lyrics were unintelligible, the sound was unbalanced, and if I hadn't brought binoculars, I never even would have known half the instruments were there--because you certainly couldn't hear them. Whoever was working sound that night (is the sound board operator a band employee or a Fox Theater employee?) should consider a new line of work.

I was very frustrated by the whole experience, and my fiance was near tears in her disappointment.

I wish I could get my money back.

Sadly, they were kind of boring.. no kind of performing, they just stood there and played. Isaac stood at the far right end of the stage the entire night..we could barely see him. They didn't even look like they were enjoying themselves. Now I see why they don't tour much..they don't seem to like it.

I enjoy them more from my iPod in my car than seeing them live.

The Fox Theater was absolutely stunning, but the band was forgettable.

The show was awful. They started about half hour late, they were not together at all--constantly dealing with instruments, long pauses in between songs, no interaction with the audience, feedback onstage. Don't get me wrong, I love their music and was super excited to hear them live but overall the show sucked!

Great show! There was a brief minute where the mic was receiving some feed back, so there was that horrid screeching sound. I would say that if I could do this again; I would sit in the lawn section. I was in the pit area and it was too crowded for me, someone who actually wanted to see Modest Mouse without all the distractions, of pushers, people going in and out for beer, drunks, and tall people. I would tell everyone to see them live if they got a chance, they put on a great show, awesome energy, and the drummers are so much fun to watch.
