I can't recommend this show because it would become less intimate if the audience was larger.
You don't want to experience this percussion; for when the rhythm is this perfect there is nothing left to be desired.
And if someone tells you that Jesse is the Mozart of Rhumba, say, oh, come on, really? Because there are those that say no can experiment with new sounds while still remaining so true to style and genre better then Jesse Cook.
So don't go see the show. The talent is too amazing, too perfect. I don't say this lightly. This show will take you away from the present world. Do you really want that? And then to have the whole band talk and joke with you after the show? On this planet really?
Ok, enough tongue in cheek. This is not pop music. But it is truly music at it's finest, and is different than what you are used to. I loved the show, and had an absolutely wonderful time. Jesse, thanks for the CD, I am sure my mom will sing again. RK

Jesse and his crew put on an impressive show of talent and diversity. The array of percussion instruments is one I have never seen before - unique sounds to go with a unique band. Jesse invokes the crowd with his outgoing personality. His reminiscient stories about his songs, and how they originated were comical and enlightening. The absence of flashing lights and acrobatics on the stage, made this a simple, enjoyable concert for all to enjoy. The small venue (The Wilbur in Boston) added to the feeling of being in a personal atmosphere with a great set of musicians playing just for you. Mom and Dad loved the show too, in spite of the somewhat cramped seating that is the Wilbur.

The only thing wrong with this show is it didn't last a few more hours. Jesse and his band were there, on time, and gave us a great, great show. I'd seen him before him smaller venues like Sculler's, but he is so at home on a bigger stage, it was wonderful. Can't give a high enough thumb's up.

Jesse Cook gave a great show - due more to his terrific, tight backup players, and his showmanship, than the speed of his fingers. Very pleased to hear much greater variety of musical moods and rhythms compared to his albums. Meanwhile, going to the Wilbur was once again horrible! The seating in the mezzanine and balcony is ridiculously tight, literally painful. It's orchestra seats or none for any future event, and the City ought to force them to rebuild the seating for public health and safety!

Wow!!! We are getting married August 24,2013 and one of our requirements for our honeymoon was to see Jesse Cook in concert...so May 19th was a little early for the honeymoon but we made an exception for Jesse!!! We were blown away by the performance, actually brought tears to our eyes, we are using Broken moon as the wedding march for me the bride, it's not a sad song to us at all....very happy and sweet.... The performance was one of the best I have ever seen, and I've seen the likes of Sting, Rolling Stones, Lenny Kravitz...etc... Jesse Cook was equally magnificent !!! We recommend this show to everyone young and old!!!!

First saw on PBS then attended first concert in Springfield, MA and was blown away. Got tickets the day I found out he was going to be in Boston. Rainy day and long drive to be entertained but no regrets. His talent is beyond the music but the music is as good as it gets for energy. Even his, as he calls them, SAD songs are packed with energy. In addition to his talents he is surrounded by four of the best musicians who could carry a show by themselves and he is secure enough to feature each one of them on many of the songs. Can't wait for them to return to MA. I will be there!

I have been to a wide variety of concerts,fromCream to Janis Joplin, to Spyra Gyra, to Segovia. This concert experience was unique because I was able to witness a master plying his craft, making great music. At the beginning of the concert, he said" thanks to WGBH for promoting our weird music". I thought then that the music isn't weird at all. It makes perfect sense and comes from the heart of the center of the world.

Jesse Cook and his band were loose, comfortable, and in the groove on this last concert in their 70 city tour. They were ready to go home, but before they went they played loud, fast, rockin' versions of many of Jesse's best. They closed with a casual, fun rendition of The Two of Us before hitting the road for home.

This is the third Jesse Cook concert I have attended. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. The music is exceptional from not only Jesse but the entire group. For the encore the group moved off the stage into the audience and it was wonderful, nice touch!!!

This is my second time seeing Jesse Cook and his band in concert. They are all outstanding. This was a smaller venue and it was the best way to see this band. Being up close you can see the drummers hands go crazy and Jesse's fingers fly on the guitar. Wow!

Jesse Cook always puts on a great concert. This time he performed many familiar songs as he was nearing the end of a tour that began last fall. A highlight for people on the other side of the auditorium had to be when the band went down into the far aisle and performed one of their instrumentals. Chris Church did vocals. Once back onstage, they said goodnight but came back for "Cecilia" as their encore. This is the fifth time I've seen this group and he never disappoints.

Loved the show - not only is Jesse Cook extremely talented but the musicians appearing with him also added so much to the overall show.

Must add that we were also very pleased with the South Milwaukee PAC - this was my first time there and the acoustics were great.
