The Roots are freaking incredible live. It was a party the whole time. No lulls in the action. Quest Love is a mastermind behind the action.

The Roots never fail to impress fans with new albums that continue to display their versatility and talents. Last time I saw them was at the Philadelphia 4th of July 2012 Fest. Although it was awesome to see them there, remixing and collaborating with a bunch of musicians and Dj's, it was AWESOME to see them by themselves. Their opening acts are always great, and they just put on some of the best shows I've ever seen.

To put it simply, they just make ya want to dance until you drop.....and then keep dancing!! Glad to see they're all still working together and making music!

This show was absolutely awesome and a wonderful way to ring in the New Year! Not only did the club provide New Years hats, beads, and horns but they also dropped balloons down on the crowd at midnight. IThe roots even came out and did an extra encore which was awesome! I was so pleased with everything at this show.

No really- they did some rock music!! They were awesome; non-stop for at least an hour and even did the standard new years song at midnight!
Side note about seating: Standing Room Only- It was hot, people were pushy and trying to get in front of you even though the place was packed!

The Roots concert at the Fillmore on 12/31/12 was excellent. The opening band was good and albeit a late start, The Roots brough it as always. Acoustically excellent, they outdid themselves with their individual and band efforts.
Unfortunate that they did not play very man of their more 'airplay' friendly songs or the ones that had guest appearances. that would have enhanced the concerrtt considering it was New Years Eve.
They possibly could update thier repertoire as this was essentially the same concert they have had for the last couple of years.
The Fillmore was a good location and astep up from the 9:30 club where they used to perform. Clean and excellent facilities. Only gripes, their 'upgraded' seating on the balcony was done haphazardly and was pretty much a free for all. the young lady assigning the seating was inept and confused. Suggestion, have it available online and it would save the headaches of dealing with the confusion. The bar was overwhelmed and they were woefully understaffed.They missed out on plenty of opportunities of selling drinks and food because the wait was way too long and people just did not wait.

I love love love "the legendary Roots Crew!" Unfortunately, very, very few of them showed up that night. Black Thought is a master and he put down an excellent show with ?uestlove and a few others.

The Fillmore was an excellent venue for the show. However the extra staff could have used some additional training in personability.

The Roots on New Years Eve --- was amazing. BlackThought is a beast and killed the whole set. Tuba Gooding Jr... :) is in fantastic shape, to be able to hold that tuba,dance and keep up. The Roots just kill as a live party band.

I have never been to a roots concert, although I am an avid follower of their music. The Roots performed beyond my expectations- phenomenal, two-hour set of non-stop music- old and new. They have amazing energy - will definitely go see them again!

2nd hip hop show at House of Blies and same review from the first... Voices were muffled and the rappers were difficult to understand... Been to plenty of hip hop shows and I've determined that it is the HOB venu. Someone alert the sound boy and have him increase the highs so we can understand the words. If you have never seen the roots then see them anywhere you can even if it has to be the House of Blues.

Excellent, intimate setting at the House of Blues. Plenty of hotel options in AC with a wide range of expense or convenience. The Roots always put on a good show, with improvisation and unique presentation of all the instruments. Last time I saw them here, they did a James Brown cover that I prefer over the GnR stuff we got this time. It also ran a little longer last time, but we got a good show. Beer was affordable at $6 and I expected worse. No reason to miss any opportunity to see The Roots.
