Opening act(s): two piece band that was like the white stripes trying to play arcade fire, not bad at all. the guy kept switching between guitar and drums and had several loop and octave pedals going on at once, very interesting and complicated to perform, not the best music, but impressive no doubt. @

they rocked the auditorium as usual. don't sit at the top of hill auditorium two 6' guys sat in front of us and all we could see was the drummer (who is awesome and i have a much greater appreciation for now). one of the best bands of the past two decades (if not the best), may go see again in a few months.

I have seen Wilco over 5 times and I love it everytime. Every show seems alittle different. It's just a relaxed atmosphere with a great range of people. It's not just a show for teenagers or 20 somethings...
The only thing I didn't like was the venue. Seats were very uncomfortable and tight. I wondered if it was just me encountering that problem, but I saw others and they decided to just stand for the whole show. I really wished it was back at the Auditorium Theatre.

I had barely ever heard a wilco song b4 the concert, i bought the tickets for myself and girlfriends family as a pay back for them taking me ot see coldplay at alpine a few months back, which was also a great show by the way, but back to wilco. Especially considering i wasn't very familiar with thier music before, I thoguth tthe show was amazing, they played non stop, and then the encore was what...6 songs long, also non-stop. From the little i know, coldplay puts on a great show, and i'd have to agree, but these wilco guys, who came out of no where for me, where rigth on the same level, wilco might have even been just a bit better (because we could actually see them). Not to mention, Hill auditorium is a great venue!!!

As the title says, the playlist was amazing. A 20 song set plus 9 song encore that was a great mix of old and new. The guys are amazing musicians. Everytime I thought they were done they would start up with another song. Also, letting the crowd sing most of Jesus, etc. was pretty great.

Wilco was amazing to say the least. There were moments of chaos mixed in with precision. I could have left after the second song and have been pleased with the concert. They played songs from all of their albums and the mix of songs complemented each other well. The multi-instrumentalist sometimes played guitar, so that there could be three guitar parts, and they played off of each other well. The bassist was a great backing singer - the others were great singers, too. Jeff Tweedy's voice couldn't hit a bad or unpleasing note. It was nice to see the drummer switch the way he held his left hand drumstick (traditional to matched). The overall mix was very nice.
The opening band was good. I'm a big fan of Tortoise, but I felt the mix should have been better. The low frequencies from the kick drum (possibly triggered sounds) seemed to mask much off the other sounds. Also, the bass guitar was hard to hear.

I've seen Wilco 5 times (once was only briefly as they came out on stage in support of Billy Bragg for a few songs) over the course of their career. The first time I saw them was after the release of Being There and they were a fantastic band even then, but they have reached new heights in the last few years. Back then they were the torch bearer of the alt. country movement and a as much country/folk as rock/punk. Today's Wilco is a great roaring machine that takes no prisoners as they layer on a wall of sound. They are still capable of a country ditty or quiet beauty, but more often than not they are rocking full speed ahead. In short they are currently the best American band, and a must see live. They played for 2 hours and 45 minutes and I felt fully satisfied. If I had a complaint it would be with the venue which had terrible sound quality. Also the very middle of the show was stacked with 3 similar tempo songs that would have been better if spaced apart.

First off - UIC Pavilion - always a great place to see a show. Never seen Wilco before? You're in for a treat. With Wilco, you never get a bad show. Jeff Tweedy, who could have an alternate career as a comedian, was remarkably funny in the 2.5 hr show packed full of hits.

What a fantastic show for their 2nd night at UIC Pavilion, and their last stop in North America before heading overseas. 2 1/2 hours of great music spanning every release!! 20 songs, plus a 10 song encore. Great banter with the crowd from Jeff Tweedy...just a very entertaining night overall. My 10 year old son and I had a wonderful time!! BTW, Wilco is his favorite band, as well as mine. He said to me 3/4 of the way through the show, "Can we go see them again??" Oh yeah, we'll be going to a future show!! The only complaint...the acoustics at the Pavilion aren't the greatest. But, I can live with it.

Wilco is known for fantastic live performances. The faults with the show had nothing to do with them. The set list was nice and long. Fast transitions to songs and great cross section of their albms. The problem was there's only so much you can do with UIC Pavillion. No matter how great the band is or the sound guy its still going to sound like a hockey rink.
The reason this gets 4 starts is for the band and the band alone. That says something about their performance. Most bands would have received a 2.5 from me at this venue.

The show was amazing!! If you like good music, but don't know much about Wilco, give them a shot, you won't regret it. Wilco takes regular music on a different level....their songs might be ordinary but they play it in an extraordinary manner. Wilco's concert is totally unique and stimulating experience.....it has classic rock elements, cabaret elements, experimental music experience, even country elements........wrapped up in a very colorful foil.

The final night of the US leg of the Wilco tour. I saw it was a different setlist from the 1st night. This show was 30 songs, and about 3 hours long. My first Wilco show. They played everything. They played a lot off the new album and many of the greats! I will definitely have to see them again. I had a great time. The guitars and musicianship is really top notch.
