Seeing Diana Krall live let me experience the magic of her virtuosity on the piano as well as her soulful contralto voice. She is a terrific musician, something that can best be appreciated in live performance. It was a great night out.

She is great and I loved the concert. Diana Krall is my favorite artist. That Open Sky Theater was one of the nicest concert venues I have ever been to. I love the music by the pool before the concert. Everything was so comfortable. Our seats were great, lots of leg room, comfortable seating, plenty of staff serving drinks. I did not even have to get up to get a drink. I already recommended this to several friends and I am going back for sure.

No opener get there early!!

The concert was excellent. The quality of the sound was superb. The drums which can easily over power other instruments, was perfectly blended.

The band played together for 40 minutes or so, then Diana played solo on a stand up piano for about 20-30 minutes and interacted with the crowd. She played some Fats Waller and other greats of that era gone by.

Then the band came back and they played another 30 minutes or so.

Definitely worth the $.

I saw a previous show at Jones Hall several years ago and was excited to see her again. However, I was very disappointed in the presentation as well as the interpretations of the music. Her style was no longer jazz, it was more folk/rock. Considering the ticket prices, I thought it was a waste of time and money.

Great show ... she's wonderful and had an amazing band! Great guitarist and violinist! Diana is one of a kind and makes old music sound new. Threw in a little Dylan, The Bank and Buddy and Julie Miller ... how cool is that!

I have been listening to Ms Krall's songs for many years and was so grateful to hear that she was coming to South Texas. She did not let me down. She is a truly talented singer and surprisingly very down to earth! I loved her show and will definitely plan to see her again.

We were super excited to attend this performance because there are not that many jazz singers coming to this part of the country.
We arrived 20 minutes before the concert began, got our seats and chatted a little bit with the other people beside us. The seats are extremely uncomfortable. This theater is over 100 years and apparently so are the seats.
There is a screen at the back of the stage where old movies from the 20's and 30's were shown as Diana Krall sang the songs from that period of history - but of course with her amazing swing and unique raspy-but-still-smooth voice. The band was amazing, esspecially the drummer. They all played in an amazing synch. The downside was that the venue decided to make extra money by selling alcohol to people who were already drunk. Other than that, Diana and her band were simply amazing and we enjoyed every minute!

Diana Krall is smooth. She plays jazz smooth, her voice is smooth and she has a dry smooth wit.
We shared the evening with several friends at her concert and all of us were mesmerized with her musical talent and voice. She held her audience captive with her backdrop of old time movie/cartoons. And she is sharp and smooth with audience rapport.

A delightful evening with Diana.

Show revealed a very dull , flat dark and depressing atmosphere with very little creativity
and Diana Krall appeared as she was just trying to get the show " out of the way".
Would not recommend it if you are in the mood for an uplifting event,
If you do go take plenty of Paxil before!!

An amazing talent gave the audience a great show. The song selection truly reflected her background and told a story of honky-tonks and bars in her childhood home of BC. You knew this girl was a player when she sat down at the piano, but you didn't know the music burned in her soul until you actually listened to Diana tell you her story in the music.
Her quartet was there for every twist and turn and Marc Ribot is the ultimate jazz/vocal backing guitarist.
I would see that show over and over again.

Only one curtain call...just sayin'.

Did not sing enough of her older music. To much time talking. I pay for her to sing not be abusive to the people that bought tickets and allow her make a living. Will not attend another concert of Diana Krall.

Mrs. Elvis Costello put on a fantastic 2-hour show (including encore of Bob Dylan's "Simple Twist of Fate.") The Canadian-born singer-songwriter-pianist led a tight, 5-piece backup band through a curious set of songs only somewhat familiar and at times downright obscure. Her interplay with the audience during her solo section was charming as well as humorous. She is a wonderful entertainer.
My only disappointment: no songs from Cole Porter or the tradtional "great American song book," a nod to Nat King Cole notwithstanding.

Great music. Stage setup was beautiful. Diana Krall was a joy to listen to and the band was awesome. The choice of music was different and a great way to broaden the horizon for the listener! I would go again without hesitation!

Diana Krall is an outstanding musician and singer, but her style of music just doesn't get me excited. She seems to relate well to the audience. The 1920's music just doesn't do it for me.
