Spoon was great. They played the songs I liked. They had a lot of energy and didn’t waste a lot of time talking in between songs. Great show I would definitely see them again. The opening band (Cold Cave) on the other hand, not so good. They started the show with a really annoying noise. Kind of sounded like a helicopter mixed with a laser gun and several other sounds I could not identify. This lasted for several minutes. Also the last song they played began with this same noise. This time the sound seemed to last for an eternity. Looking around the room I could clearly see the displeasure on a lot of people’s faces. Many people including my self got as far away from the stage as possible. To end on a positive it was my first time at the Palladium and it is a really cool place to see a show.

12th time seeing them, one of their best. So much energy. They seemed to be having a great time. As a hardcore Spoon uber fan, I get a little disappointed when they don't play enough older songs (no Me and the Bean?) but the show was so great, it didn't take away much at all from my experience.

Quite possibly the most fun I've had at any of the 1,000 or so shows I've been to in my life. Even though Spoon kicked ass AND covered Wolf Parade, Matt and Kim definitely stole the show.

How amazing is it to only have to pay $20 to see these 3 bands? I mean, I would totally pay $20 to just see Spoon. The Cribs were amazing, but I was bummed that the crowd didn't seem to be so into them. Matt & Kim were great. The crowd loved them, and they soaked in all of the love. They interacted very well with the crowd, which helped. Kim is one hell of a drummer. Spoon was very good too. They played a good mix of old and new stuff. I think they ended really well, with a lot of songs that we could dance to. All in all, such a great concert!

Absolutely awesome show. Everyone who showed up on time got to see a fantastic local band, Karate Coyote. They laid out a great set, my favorite of their songs is probably Move Yourself, though all of their songs are always upbeat; and so are the artists!

The Cribs played what must have been a frustrating set. It didn't really turn out that well, I later found out from one of K.C.'s members that they were having some sound issues. I just felt like their heart wasn't in it after their 40 minute sound check.

Matt and Kim were a blast! I do wish the bass weren't as high, it made the vox and keys a little tinny, but at least I got to hear Kim blasting away on those drums well!! At one point Matt threw out a bag of balloons and had everyone blow them up and toss them around, then I lost my head when they went into "Better Off Alone" by Alice DJ!

Spoon was Spoon. They used a lot more effects than I expected, I highly recommend seeing them live, because they're fantastic musicians and they play a very interesting set as compared to their albums.

The show had a very promising line up, and I was very excited to see all the artists. But....most of the awe was lost due to bad sound. The sound guy(s) just couldn't seem to make it work, for any of the bands! I found myself distracted and watching everyone else but the band on stage. The Cribs, for example, have little rifts in just about all their songs that make them interesting and unique...but you could not hear them. They also split up the vocals pretty evenly between the twins...one of their mics was blasting sound, while the other was barely audible. This made their whole set a bit confusing and underwhelming. Even Matt and Kim, who also have many tiny details in their songs that make them great, were not adequately portrayed. The keyboard, the only melody producing instrument in the band! was lacking any face-melting sound!!! Frustrating!
Last year was so good....this year I left early, sorry Spoon.

I thought Spoon performed incredibly well. From a guitarist's point of view, everything was spot on and sounded great.

Throughout the entire show, there was this pervasive awkwardness, a heedless hesitance to stand up and feel the music--effectively blocking the person behind you. From the first mezzanine, I watched a few below, up front, wiggle out of this feeling and stand.

It reminded me of this old video I watched of an ACDC concert where the entire theater was seated...I understand these are very different types of rock, but I guess I just imagined it would be different.

I mistook Deerhunter for The Dear Hunter which made me feel dumb, of course.

A couple, a few seats away from me, actually sparked a doobie, which was consequently noted by security. At least I'm not that delusional about the venue, I just know I won't be attending another concert there.

I would recommend seeing these guys to any friend or stranger. Every song was played perfectly. The crowd was really into it. And the setlist was awesome. I enjoyed myself very much, and would see them again in a heartbeat.

I'm not a huge spoon fan but was willing to give them a chance. Either they were having an off night (singer's voice seemed pretty rough and someone said he mentioned being sick) or I'm even loss of a spoon fan than I thought.

The crummy sound system/mix that perpetually plagues the Fox didn't help matters much either.

Even Spoon was upset and quite vocal about the bogus sound of the Aragon Ballroom. It's a toss up wanting to see a favorite band, yet knowing the venue is less than stellar for them. I'd see Spoon again in a heartbeat, but will pass on going back to the Aragon unless for some reason Led Zeppelin decides to reunite there.

The fox is awesome - I was only able to get seats in the balcony. They were a bit cramped but a good vantage point. Next time I'm going to buy early and secure some floor seats.

The encore was a bit weak. Would have loved to have heard "Fitted Shirt." But overall Spoon killed it.

April 11th I drove up to Vancouver from Seattle to see Spoon. Unfortunately I bought the tickets late and all but the upper balcony seats were filled. I hadn't really heard that much from Deerhunter before but I immediately bought their Microcastle album. But definitely the highlight of the night was when Spoon came out. I was pleasantly surprised when their line up for the night included some of their older stuff like "The Way We Get By" and a lot of tracks from Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. Britt Daniel definitely engaged the audience well and I had a total blast. Can't wait to see them again!

As always, the Fox Theater itself is an awesome place to behold. Micachu and the Shapes were weird, but interesting. It was my first time seeing Deerhunter live, and they were good. Finally, Spoon did their thing, playing mostly from their Transference album, which was expected, as well as some oldie but goodies. It was my third time seeing Spoon, and they always put on a good show.

First off, it was too loud. I have been to the Fox many times and have never wanted nor needed earplugs. I had to get earplugs from RockMed and they said to me that they "had never had so many requests". So that was super annoying. Now on to Spoon. I was very disappointed. I just kept waiting to hear them play songs off their older albums. When they did, which was very few and far between, they sounded slow and added long interludes of "jamming". It was not a crowd pleaser. At one point Kinder said "I can't hear you". I felt the crowd was unusually quiet and I wasn't the only less than satisfied audience member.

Terrible audience, I apologize wholeheartedly dear Spoon. The sound guys totally butchered Dearhunter and the previous band. They tried to make Spoon sound just as bad but Britt and co were having none of it. Despite a great set, the crowd was dead, or suffered from laryngitis.
