This concert provided the perfect mix of songs that highlighted the artist's career. The crowd was screaming with delight from the moment that Morrissey walked across the stage. The first song played was a Smith's fan favorite, "Shoplifters of the World Unite", which further ignited the audience. A similar chaos ensued when Morrissey and the band came back and belted out "Still Ill" for the encore. The set list between these two classics provided a flawless sampling of Morrissey's solo work with the one rare exception: the cover of "To Give", which Morrissey sang with such emotional intensity and pitch perfect vocals that it received a very enthusiastic reaction from the crowd. While there was only one successful stage invasion, a rarity at a Morrissey concert, the audience seemed to be quite content. This singer never fails to have a profound effect on his fans.

It was OK. He was in fine voice, but the whole experience was boring. At times dreadful. And his whole self-pity thing is growing so old as he grows so old. He also came across as a mean SOB. Gone was any traces of humor. Miserable, really. My last time seeing this bloke.

I can die happy now. Growing up, my parents loved Morrissey. I remember them bumping his music at full blast, album after album. By the time I started the first grade, I already knew his songs by heart. As I got older I kept listening to Morrissey and his songs always remained fresh, I never even once got tired of any of his songs. As I got older I found new and different meaning to his songs. when I was younger his songs seemed depressing and morbid, but as I got older and more mature, his songs seemed hopeful, pushed boundaries and challenged generally accepted ideas and encouraged me to think outside the box. I'm still ecstatic that I was able to experience Morrisey live in concert.

Morrissey sounded great but the show was short and I did not appreciate the over the top animal rights presentation it was just too much.I thought I was attending a concert, I did not think I was attending a political event.

I came to hear one of the great voices of alternative music and a beloved part of my life since my college days. When Morrissey took the stage, I was not disappointed. His singing was impeccable, the music was loud (but mostly not too loud) and his band was top notch. I'd reviewed the set list of previous shows and this one was similar, with all kinds of more recent favorites and Smiths classics. And then about 3/4 of the way in, I was baffled to hear the wailing intro of Meat is Murder start up....and a video started on the screen. Oh, no... seriously? For about the next five minutes we were all treated to very graphic footage of every form of legal and illegal domestic livestock abuse under the sun, while Morrissey reminded us that the meat in our BIG FAT MOUTHS was Murder. This review isn't the place to debate veganism, and I did buy a ticket knowing that someone of strong convictions would have the microphone. But I came to see a show, not be emotionally brutalized by someone who knows nothing about the people in the audience, their beliefs and choices. This song ground the energy and enthusiasm of the show to a crashing halt, though I won't speak for the PETA members scattered about. I am no stranger to the realities of animal abuse. Yet I basically felt emotionally raped by what was crammed down my throat. The show started up again, but I didn't. It honestly sucked the life out of the event for me. Days later, I still have a sense of feeling steamrolled on some emotional level. Was this a "special treat" aimed at UCD because it is known as an agricultural college? I have no idea. I would have given the magnificently performed concert a 10.0 had it not been for that insertion. I can say that it isn't the best way to make a point. Everyone in America should have to see that footage(somewhere else) and demand better for animals. But it's a damn funny way to sell tickets.

Morrissey concert was great and he sound was a little an even . And it needed a big screen t.v . The stage was a little to far from the seats but after all it was great. I would go if morrissey has another show their , but next i would like to have closer seats. Thanks staples center.

I have been a fan of Morrissey for many many years. I was hoping he would have played more of his olc/classic songs. The songs that he is known for.

I will always be a fan but I don't think I would spend the money to go and see him again.

This show was a return yo form for Morrissey. I've seen him several times through the years and this was one of his beat performances since the early 90s. It was nice to see him inner act with the audience on a personal level as if he was as big a fan of us as we are of him.

This was an incredible show. Everything was nice and simple. Parking was easy, we got through the doors within 5 minutes, grabbed drinks, and found our seats. Sound quality was phenomenal! Incredibly balanced, and of course Morrissey delivered a flawless performance.

Hollywood HS was ill equipped to host a legend. Massive lines of disgruntled fans wrapped around three Hollywood blocks. We were delayed entrance due to a messy check-in process, the opening act annoyed most fans. 9:57pm, Morrissey FINALLY hit the stage. My wife and I were doubtful that we would get into the venue. It was a MIRACLE that we were actually inside the venue and seated. If you saw the size of the lines, you'd understand. During Meat is Murder; a very graphic video of cow and chicken slaughters played behind Morrissey. During Let Me Kiss You, he ripped off his shirt and chucked it to a man in the front row. Random fans and Julia Riley spoke too (boo!) Seeing Morrissey perform in a high school auditorium left us very nostalgic. Luckily, he still has the voice that we fell in love with in the 80s.
