The Tchaikovsky spectacular with fireworks was a great show, the conductor was hilarious and very entertaining. His explanations of the musical pieces was excellent and made the show more enjoyable. The dances that accompanied the orchestra where wonderful Overall a great show.

What a wonderful treat -- a great way to end the summer.
From the moment conductor Bramwell Tovey hit the stage, the evening was magical. The well-seasoned maestro enthusiastically and humorously recounted the stories of The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and 1812 Overture to a near capacity Hollywood Bowl. With perfectly clear and beautiful weather, the LA Philharmonic filled the air with the genius of Tchaikovsky's memorable themes. The LA Children's Chorus sang the like a chorus of angels during The Nutcracker.
Additionally, dancers from the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) Marcelo Gomes, Veronika Part, Paloma Herrera and Cory Stearns interpreted the first two pieces with grace and beauty.
The grand finale of the 1812 Overture fulfilled all expectations including the USC Marching Band, canons and fireworks.
Everyone should see this annual event!

The musical interpretations were amazing. The fireworks were also spectacular and really complimented the 1812 overture perfectly. A must go for all Tchaikovsky fans.

The strangest repertoire ever in Disney Hall. It sounded like they were making it up while they were performing.Cameron Carpenter came out and played for about 15 minutes. He is brilliant but, you would never know it from the Copland piece that was selected for him to play. Joshua Weilerstein, is a promising young conductor but, will have a very short career if he doesn't pick programs that connect with the audience. We saw 2 people sleeping and several that left this concert. First time this has happened at a LA Phil concert in our recollection.

I took My friend Dennis, a conductor and composer and I'm a fine artist.
He was blown away by the sound, we had terrace seats in the center and could hear every instrument = note. He was brought to tears... he's a big guy and seeing tears pour from his face brought me to tears all because of the beauty = the music, visualization and the setting.

It was a sublime experience. Alison Balsom in particular was angelic in both her playing and persona. After the performance Miss Balsom signed autographs and was absolutly gracious. The whole evening was a delight and getting to meet her afterward was a highlight.

I thought it was absolutely fabulous! I love music, but have had very little education on the subject. These type of events are not only wonderful on their own, they greatly contribute to enjoyment and appreciation of the actual concerts.

The speaker was both entertaining and informative. I have taken many college music classes, and I don't remember any professor that did a better job of explaining the history and elements of the music. Also, it was also my first time at Walt Disney hall, and the building is absolutely gorgeous. I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Classical music history review was just right with respect to the depth of the content.
The "how we listen to classic music" part of the session was what I was expecting to learn.
Learning something else on top of those mentioned above: such as over tone and Mannheim rocket was a bonus.
This session was fun yet informative!

Usually I am anti-powerpoint, but Alan Chapman and his powerpoint were great. Clear, interesting and funny. I learned fascinating things about harmonics. However, if there were a version with more live music as the examples, even if it were a lot more expensive, I would love that.
