First off, let me just say that I was very excited to see Dave Hollister and SWV in Concert and they were amazing as expected! I paid a good amount of money to get good seats and was excited to be very close to the stage. However, I was overall pretty disappointed in the set up of the concert and I have a few reasons as to why I feel this way.
1. There was a DJ that played music for an hour before any performers even came on stage
2. There was so little people at the concert, that people were just sitting wherever they wanted even if they had paid for balcony seating( a significant less amount of money than people who paid for floor seating)
3. When the DJ was finally done playing music, a comedian came out. I forget his name but his comedy was good up until his jokes became very vulgar and inappropriate. He kept coming out inbetween acts and ruined the show for me. His jokes were embarrasing and I spent most of my time looking down at the ground because I was embarrased for him.
4. The opening acts were good, but again, they took up another hour of the show and Dave Hollister didn't even come out to sing until about 9:45 pm
5. Once Dave Hollister was finished, the comedian came back out again and kind of took up time while SWV was preparing to come on stage to perform... more vulgar and inappropriate jokes
6. Finally, SWV came out to sing at 10:30 pm when they were scheduled to perform before Dave Hollister, they weren't even on stage for more than a half hour
The whole concert was just very disorganized and whoever put the show together really didn't set it up professionally. It was very obvious to the audience that the people on stage really didn't know what they were doing. Also, the sound at Soldiers and Sailors was very poor. i felt like I was in a High School auditorium and that was a huge disappointment. I really wouldn't recommend this concert, I just expected it to be a lot more organized and worth going to. Maybe a different venue would have been better and omiting the comedian would have done wonders. I was offended by many of his "jokes." I actually think the comedian spent more time on stage than the musical acts I paid to see that evening. I was completely uninformed that there would even be a comedian there in the first place.
