Great show at the Houston House of Blues. The Reverend Horton Heat NEVER disappoints.
Set list was heavier on covers and country than it usually is at a RHH show, likely because of their new-found move toward country as reflected in their newest album, Laughin' and Cryin' with the Reverend Horton Heat.
Would have loved to have been able to get a sticker for my new truck, but they were light on merch at this show.
The Reverend Horton Heat has a sound that is at once unique and familiar... the result of years of having fun doing what they do. It's a sound that is distinctly Texas, yet universal in its appeal. Although RHH has a voluminous collection of studio albums, their sound is only fully enjoyed LIVE. Houston House of Blues is the PERFECT venue in which to enjoy the hard-hitting, blues / psychobilly / country -driven sound and be up-close and personal with this incredible, time-tested winner of a band.
