El DeBarge opened for New Edition in Little Rock, AR. He did an amazing job. He still has the swagger and the voice!! I too had planned on seeing him in Memphis earlier in the year, but the show was cancelled. Was I disappointed? Of course I was disappointed. Who would not have been? I am just glad that he is still alive and is able to share his musical talent with us....as for others, they have not been so BLESSED. Everyone deserves a second chance and he is human just like we all are. We need to give him our support and not kick a man when he is down or just going through some valleys in his life. With fan support and love, he will peak again!! I am with you El...no matter what you have gone through. I have been a fan since the DeBarge years and I am not going to stop now!!! I can't wait to see you again. Who knows? Maybe you can perform at Riverfest in Little Rock next year. El...keep giving it your best!! You will be okay!!

He flaked on us last year, so I don't want to even see him this year. The only reason why I'm attending the concert is for New Edition. If it was just him coming I wouldn't even go. Disappointed fan. I loved him from his group days but was a let down.

i recently attended the may 27th show at atlantic city's boardwalk hall.
el opened for new edition. i missed his tour in 2010 and since then
it's been a rocky return. missed shows, bad shows etc. so i was
leery about seeing el this time.
he was not out for very long, about 30 minutes but in those
30 minutes, he hit some amazing notes especially on time will
reveal. his setlist was stay with me, one mo chance,time will
reveal, a duet w/his son el jr. he has more energy than some of
new edition esp bobby brown.
should he headline his own show, i hope he will focus
on his own material and the material he did w/others, fourplay,
quincy jones, etc...
what there was of el, i enjoyed and so did the crowd. a standing
ovation...

Well El Debarge is scheduled to come to Southhaven, MS along with New Edition and K-Ci & Jo-Jo on February 11th. I hope he shows up. He is a very talented singer and it has been a long time coming. He actually cancelled a concert in Jackson, MS last year and my husband and I did not find out it was cancelled until a few hours before the concert. I was furious and disappointed. If he doesn't show up I am sure NE will give us a good show.

I wanted 2 do something special for my sister to show my appreciation. This was something she'll never thought I would do for her, since I'm conservative with money. Her birthday was on Oct. 3rd and I was keeping it a secret since Aug. 29th. I drove 70 mi., rushing to get there. I ended up running a red light, looking for a parking space. While, searching for the building, we ran into a security guard & he told us our concert was cancelled. That spoiled the surprise, I was so disappointed & surprised also. El Debarge should give a benefit concert to the people who wasted more money 2 see him perform. Bottom-line it was a big let down for me!

This was the third concert that I purchased tickets for to see El Debarge that either he did not show or in the case the show was cancelled. I like alot of other fans of El Debarge would like to see this legendary singer/songwriter perform but I feel that he still has some personal issues to overcome, either way I just wish he would not make all these dates if he is not ready yet, he was the main one whom I was going to see once in Memphis, and once in Dallas. It is a big let down when someone like El Debarge doesn't show up and there is no suitable replacement for him.

OMG! I flew all the way to D.C. for this concert and it was cancelled 20 minutes before it was supposed to start. We didn't receive any explanation for why the event was cancelled, but as we were leaving, we saw the band packing up. As much as I adore El DeBarge, he must have been a no-show. I was so disappointed and out a lot of cash.

Was very excited to see El Debarge. Had surprised my daughter who is a big fan with tickets to see him, since her birthday was coming soon. Got all the way to the Lincoln Theater and the show was CANCELED!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!! SO MANY DISAPPOINTED PEOPLE STANDING IN FRONT OF THAT THEATER AND NO ONE TO PERFORM. I PRAY THAT MY MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED, OR THAT THE SHOW WILL BE RESCHEDULED.

Overall the concert was great. All of the performers did great. The only problem I had was that the headliner didnt perform as long as his guest. I enjoyed every minute of El, however we all wanted MORE!!!!

I Took a Flight from South Carolina to attend this Concert.I wasn't sure if it was coming our way,with the same line-up,After reading on Twitter that Bunny would be performing,that sealed it for me,and I have no regrets.The Show started late due to several Events in the area causing traffic backups.We were Greeted by A beautiful Radio Personality who warmed up the crowd,A performer opened up with two songs I don't know who he was,or remember what he sang he was some what funny.Christopher Williams was next,his performance was good.Al B.Sure was next he was good also.Chico DeBarge comes out in a Black Suit with Rhinestones on the Lapel and upper pockets He looked Dapper sang well and was backed up by his sister Bunny and her two daughters,it was great and then Bunny sang" A Dream" I was sooo... excited.She sang so beautiful and Chico ended the song with her,just beautiful.The Band was really good.Then came The Man of the Night El DeBarge.The crowd went wild( Yes Me ) El got a well deserved standing ovation,El sang and danced around the stage so gracefully.He sat at his keyboard a few times and sang, He even sat on the floor and sang I danced so,I was soaked.El had to cut his set short every one was screaming for him to come back,I began to Chant We Want El until it resonanted throughout the building.He wasn't allowed to come back out, I think it was due to Time Restraint.That was disappointing El didn't get to sing many songs at all.Over all the show was great.I called for my Taxi and went to wait outside, as I was waiting,I looked to my left and there was El coming out of the venue surrounded by fans hugging, and speaking to him,El was heading my way,yes I got to talk with him,and hug him.El was so sweet, although being rushed along El took time to acknowledge and speak with his fans.I'll never forget this night.

okay , i was late getting there because the traffic was just terrible downtown due to several events going on at the same time. luckily the show hadnt started yet cus like me, alot of other people had issues getting through the traffic. the show was like a hour late starting and when it did, they brought some random guy out to sing and he really sucked. nobody knew who he was or what he was singing. then christopher williams came out and he was pretty good and still maintained his voice over the years. i was not at all impressed with al. b. sure. i kinda felt in my opinion his act was pretty lazy to me. he spent more time talking then he did singing. he made a attempt to do secret garden (without el) and i didnt care for it. i was kinda of hoping that the 4 gentlemen would have surprised us all and did secret garden together but that didnt happen. the show really got live when chico hit the stage with his sister bunny and her two gorgeous daughters. we got a pleasent surprise when chico gave bunny the mic. and she sang "a dream". ms. bunny brought the house down!!! she looks and sounds as beautiful as she did years ago. chico's set was great but i think he cut it short so that his big brother would have a little more time. when el hit the stage omg!!! the crowd went crazy!! everyone was on their feet including my mom who has bad legs and a back. el was full of so much energy and life and he was just excellent!!! unfortunately his act got cut short because of time constraints. i was so disappointed and upset cus he was just getting warmed up. that man could have went all night. i just felt that it was pretty wrong that the headliner got the least amount of time. if anything, his openers should have cut they time down to allow him the time he deserved. WE CAME TO SEE EL DEBARGE!! it was called the second chance tour and he didnt even get to sing second chance. i really felt robbed. US AS EL DEBARGE FANS, SHOULD TWEET CHICO AND POST ON EL'S FB WALL THAT WE WANT A SECOND SHOW ADDED SO THAT EL CAN FINISH WHAT HE STARTED CUS THAT WAS JUST UNFAIR HOW THEY DID THAT BEAUTIFUL MAN. DETROIT IS HIS HOMETOWN AND I' M SURE HE WANTED TO GIVE HIS FELLOW DETROITERS HIS BEST!! SO LETS PLEASE TRY TO GET HIM BACK HERE AGAIN.

This concert featured El who was amazing! Also on the show were Christopher Williams, Al B Sure, and Chico DeBarge. Special surprise was Bunny DeBarge who sang backup for Chico but also sang her song "A Dream". They've all still got it!

I was very disappointed with the stage management of the event on June 11th. For starters, the show did not start on time. There was approx 15 minutes of intermission between each act with no set up of new band equipment or anything!.. Making you wonder what was the purpose for all the intermissions. Artists such as Chris Williams and Al B Sure took so much time singing songs that were originally performed by other artist and not enough of their own hits. Then, when the headliner, El Debarge, finally hits stage...he could not perform his major hits due to time restraints by the Detroit Opera House!!...resulting in a very diappointing evening. El's performance was fantastic, but the other issues ruined the concert as a whole!!..

Well, the show started an hour late due to the horrible parking situation in downtown Detroit (another concert and ballgame going on at the same time, all next door to each other). There was a warm up act I found completely unnecessary, especially with the show running an hour behind. First act was Christopher Williams. He did a great job. Still has that amazing voice. Next act was Al B. Sure! He was good, but talked and did too much. If you didn't know any better, you would have thought it was his show! Chico DeBarge came on next and sang some of his hits, like "Virgin". His backup singers were his sister Bunny and 2 of her daughters. At one point in the show, he gave her the mike and she sang, "A Dream". And boy did she sing it! Ms. Bunny has not lost a thing, still has that amazing voice! Chico sang a few more songs, then El finally came on stage. He is such a great entertainer. Great stage presence, knows how to interact with the crowd. Can't say anything bad about his performance. Only thing that killed me was that he was only on stage a half hour. The Opera House pulled the plug on the man. We all felt so bad for him. He only got to sing one song off his new c.d. I just feel like Chris and Al B. (Al B. especially) were on too long. It seems like all the acts had as much if not more stage time than El THE HEADLINER and that is not right. Had the show not started an hour late, El obviously would have had his hour+ to perform. This was the third time I had the pleasure of seeing El perform. And just like the previous 2 times, I was so very pleased with him. I beg all of you, if you are an El fan, and he comes to your town, do not hesitate to go and see him. I promise you you will get your money's worth. When it comes to his performances, he is quite the crowd pleaser: he will dance, serenade, joke with you, play the keyboard for you and more. For all this man has been through, he hasn't lost a thing. Those pipes and that falsetto are still on point!

Very disappointed in show, he was too short, never sang new music and and previous acts took up too much time and he didn't come out until midnight, the other acts were irrelevant and took up too much time for set up and had encores when El didn't even have an encore or sing any songs off of his new album.
