I was totally appauled to have used this event for a birthday celebration. Although George was there in person, what we witnessed was not George. He was totally out of custome, sound and energy. We all understood that age will play a big part, but he chose to present himself in a concert setting. The ticket showed what we thought we would see, the titled event was what we expected to hear, but what we got was a promoto to come on stage and hear him say " based on the perplexed looks on your faces, if you are looking for someone to come out here in colored dreadlocks, it is not going to happen." In addition George came out (actually already on stage for several minutes) and took several SIT DOWN BREAKS on the equipment in the rear of the stage;while constantly pumping his hand towards others as to agree to their performances while he rested.

we were so excited to see this concert with george clinton mary jane girls confunction and barkays at morongo casino 2/5/13.. We got there 20 minutes late due to traffic. confuction was on stage and sang 2 songs and they sounded really good..Then they said Thank u to mary jane girls and barkays for coming.. We missed them in 20 minutes.. concert started at 9 by 9:20 all of the opening groups had sang.. WTH..we traveled over 5 hrs to see this concert.. So we said well we still have George clinton to see.. Well let me tell you NEVER again he needs to retire..They were all off tune and he let his back up singers do most of the singing which they coulndt carry a tune.. And we dont even think it was George Clinton.. The man came out in a suit and hat no dreads and he could not sing to save his life..A REAL DISSAPOINTMENT...

It was such an energetic and fun show. I saw George & P'funk last year @HOB and only saw George briefly. I was so happy to see him jumpin' around on stage and lookin' so dapper! My saxaphone-playin' friend was blown away - had never seen them before and was very inspired by the show.

Let me start by saying I'm a huge fan. Like the other reviews said, George's signature dreadlocks are gone, and he was rockin a nice suit at this show-looking very dapper! The first hour was awesome and filled with amazing vocals and great guitar solos. ****After about an hour, George's grand daughter took the stage and performed a rap solo...which was fairly decent, but not what we paid to see (I do like rap, just not what the event was billed as). About 20 minutes later his GRAND SON came out, and "rapped" also; it was long, and VERY badly done. Didnt come to a Funkadelic show to watch his grand kids perform. Came to hear some funk, jam sessions, and hear George, which we did for an hour, but then it turned into a very strange family reunion, sort of like Thanksgiving where grand dad sits on a chair with his eyes closed and the kids perform in the living room. We left the show early/after the grandson because it was going downhill pretty quickly. The rhythm got really off, the backup singers werent meshing, and the whole show went south.

Wouldn't pay more than ten bucks to see it- if its more than that, dont bother.

My evening was George Clinton was great. I wish he would have performed a little longer, but he put on a great show as always. George, "I miss the dreds, but the new you is good." George, looking like J. Anthony Brown, scary.

Everything a P-Funk fan could want. 3 hours of funk. Loud and in your face. George has put together a great band, and Michael Hampton's Maggot Brain nearly brought tears to my eyes.

After listening to this music for 35 years it was pure joy.

Saw George Clinton and P- funk Saturday night at the LC Pavillion. As expected they delivered an awesome show!

This is a great venue.....cozy and intimate. I stayed on the mid level right by the rail so it was like front row seating! I'll be back.....

It was wildly entertaining set and to top it off legendary music. Regardless of the bands age this concert can be enjoyed by anyone even if they are particular to certain genres.

George still got it! Even at 71 he was bouncing and pimping and preeming. His band is fantastic, especially the guitarists, and he puts on a very theatrical concert. Long too, two and half hours---more than justified given the quality and quantity of his discography!

The show was non stop funk and you could feel the energy and great atmosphere created from it. It was a great seeing a classic artist and pioneer of funk, blues and jazz. It made me appreciate music in a different eating seeing how he has influenced so many artists since his prime and yet the talent level is still unbelievable! Super fun and good natured with some if those smokey funky blues!

Although The House of Blues Boston is a bad venue for a rock concert, the show was great! The show started on time and the opening act (Big Nazo) was entertaining with all their costumes. George sung most of his parts during the concert which is an improvement from the last HOB gig 2 years ago. They preformed their classic Funkadelic songs "I'll Bet Ya" and a couple others that are rarely performed live. P-Nut from Bootsy's Rubber Band was there as well as Michael "Kid Funkadelic" Hampton who signed autographs after the show. George Clinton and P.Funk performed for about 2 1/2 hours and there wasn't a boring moment! I will definitely see them next time they are in Boston.
