hardly did any Chicago songs. He needed to put in some Chicago rockers for sure, especially since he was the key member and song writer of that group.

Remember Chicago 16? 17? The Hits and the hype? The soundtracks? Well, they all played out before our very eyes at the Fred on Saturday night, Aug 22. The weather could not have been more perfect for an outdoor concert (much better than the night before, when a storm rolled through that barely missed the venue)....mid 70's at show time, with a gentle breeze rolling through the amphitheater.

This was an electric band show (with 4 local stringed instrument artists thrown in for affect) as opposed to a symphony show, and the band did not disappoint. We were rockin' for much of the show, and even the openings on some of the slower songs were jazzed up. From the upbeat opening with "Restless Heart", through the cute stories introducing nearly every song, ending with a double encore that included a jammin' version of "25 or 6 to 4", the show as unforgettable.

Peter sounded great. We were a bit worried given his age and his style of singing very high for a guy with such a deep talking voice, but we were rewarded with an A+ show! There was no difference in that magical voice from today verses 1977...simply amazing. I also can't say enough about his percussionist and female duet partner, Kim Keyes. She is an incredible vocalist, and he is quite fortunate to have found someone as versatile as Kim that can stand center stage with him and pull off those timeless duets.

We had front row seats, which were probably 30 feet from the stage, just behind the section of tables that front the stage. Our view was unobstructed, unless the table-goers stood up, but they seldom did. The venue staff was friendly and courteous, and we are looking forward to taking in another show at The Fred.

Peter Cetera gave a concert on August 22,2009 that absolutely stunned me. The Fred in Peachtree City is a very fine venue for an amphitheater. Before the concert I read up on his bio...okay I didn't know the man is pushing 65,,,,, I thought well, I won't expect much. His music holds many romantic memories for my wife and I, so I put my reservations aside and hoped for the best. I AM SO GLAD THAT WE DID NOT MISS THIS NIGHT!!!!!!!!! Ceter was brilliant. His voice is just as elastic and has the same unique tone that it had 30+ years ago. Despite the strings being off-key at times, his intonation didn't waiver a bit. (Cetera explained during the concert that the addition of local string quartets was new to his tour.) He sang all his hits, i.e. "Glory of Love", "If You Leave Me Now", "Hard to Say I'm Sorry", "You're the Inspiration", "25 or 6 to 4", "One Good Woman", the duets "After All" and "Next Time I Fall in Love", etc. What impressed me as much as any of those was his rendition of the Beatles' "Yesterday". Cetera's session players were awesome as well. The first keyboardist and drummer, in particular, were phenoms in and of themselves. The concert was pure mastery. During and after the concert, I kept thinking to myself "this man is nearly 65 freakin' years old". I sure can't picture my dad doing this! I have been disappointed enough times with live events in the past, (especially by older "has-beens") , that I had set my sights low. MY HUMBLEST APOLGIES TO MR. PETER CETERA for my prejudices. Your voice is one in a billion, just as much today as ever. THANK YOU! I'm not one for the genre of sappy love songs, but you do them right and better than anyone else!

I have to say that seeing Peter Cetera at the Fred is the only way to go. The concert was intimate and fun - it felt like we were there with old friends. Cetera's voice is amazingly strong and beautiful - and he is such a hoot! I would have thought that after all these years he would no longer be able to hit the high notes, but everything sounded wonderful. His show was full of energy and he is an amazing performer...no doubt he's been doing this for years.

Could've done without the 1 hr Jazz "warm-up" opening act, as this was not a jazz concert. Actual PC concert was only 90 minutes but, to his credit, Peter did not take a break inbetween. 90 full minutes. Very good performance. Only disappointment was when he sang some songs from other groups and also let one of the band members sing a song (I don't mean Kim the duet lady....she was great). We all know he has more than enough of his own songs to fill 90 minutes.
The venue.....cozy amphitheater, great ambiance....plenty of parking....we flew there from CT to attend the concert and will probably go back for other acts. The location is a big draw.
Overall, great time!

The concert was extremely enjoyable. For a guy that does not tour very much he looked like he had a great time! Played several Chicago songs and sounded great on the vocals. This was an electric show so it was very lively. The audience seemed to enjoy the music as well.

Was and excellent show. The weather was perfect, the venue was small and comfortable, the sound was great and being able to bring a cooler with food and drink was over the top. Peter and band put on a great show. I look forward to going back to this amphitheater to see another show.

Great ampitheatre, wonderful atmosphere, Peter Cetera sounds better in person, than on his CD's........it was Magical......he was very personable, funny, captivating, an absolute pleasure to watch and listen to. I would go see him again, right now, if I could. Thank you Peter for a night of music and memories!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was a great show. Peter Cetera is a true entertainer. He kept the crowd throughly entertained. The only flaw was the sound system was the best. The keyboards drowned out the singer and the strings sometimes.

Peter and band sounded great but he ruined the whole experience by posting on his Twitter that he and his band were much better than the audience..........he needs to realize he is lucky he isn't playing state fairs and casinos.
