Bettie Serveert was an amazing show—the band mingled with the crowd during the opening band Salvation's set, then quickly ducked onstage when it was time to rock. They just filled that little basement with sound, playing tons of hits, from their earliest Matador releases ("Palomine," "Tom Boy") to hits-to-be from the new album, "Pharmacy of Love." They even personally sold T-shirts directly to the crowd from the stage after the show. My only complaint: My tickets from Ticketmaster never actually arrived. I chose the option to have them printed and sent to me, and while they were supposedly printed by September 9, they never did appear in my mailbox. Luckily, the guys at Blueberry Hill were understanding, but at another venue, I might not have been that lucky.
