I knew I liked some things that Karrin had done and my favorite was "So in Love" on Doug Talley's album where I first heard her and fell "so in love" with the feeling she gave me. I had seen her in an outdoor venue and was not amazed (as I was not amazed with the Kansas City Symphony at Theater in the Park). But this. Two hours of bliss. And as much as I fell "so in love" with Karrin, I think any one of the five musicians, alone, could have put me in the same trance. Matt Wilson did things on drum-set I did not know were possible. Steve Nelson, on vibes, could not have been more original. I will go see Rod Fleeman when he plays with Doug Talley at Cafe Augusta. And probably, the least heard from soloist of the night, Gerald Spaits on bass, will have to thrill me some other night. When he soloed I was certainly not disappointed. There was just not enough time.
