Only an Artist like Sandra Bernhard can take an amazing show from 20 years ago and make it fresh, new, and brilliant! Her talent has blossomed and matured since the original production, and this new maturity and resonance comes through in her reinterpretation of the most memorable moments of the original show as well as in the new material (which blends seamlessly with the original show).

Sandra Bernhard walked onto the stage electrified, and remained that way - in myriad incarnations - for two consecutive hours - no intermission. SHE WAS/IS AMAZING. I've admired her, her ability, for a long time, and wanted to see her LIVE. This was my first opportunity, and i was overjoyed. I invited two friends; one was acquainted with her "work". While I was the only one to recognize all the references, they were both very impressed; laughing, applauding. Sandra's talent, from her voice to her humour to her movements and timing, is rare and unique. AND she's a great story maker/teller!
It was wonderful to hear a baby grand, and the rest of her gifted band during the show, and when she rocked out to Led Zepplin and Prince. I also liked the way she tied moments together or introduced a piece. E.g., she thanked all the "Prince" womyn first (such as Sheila E., Lisa, Wendy), then sang "Little Red Corvette". Near the end of the show, after she had sung a Dolly Parton parody earlier, she said "I will always love you."

Sandra Bernhard is such an iconic figure on many levels. Her show was rocking and witty. Never a dull moment and she shoots straight from the hips!! Plus she looked amazing.

Sandra has always put on a show; I remember the first time I saw her, and wondered - "Why is she singing?". Because she can! She IS a show; just look at her! This time she seemed more adept at talking, sharing, singing and allowing our laughter. She shined. She glowed. The one night only audience was also special. It just seemed so right to be there...and if you weren't, who are you?

If you have not seen Sandra Bernhart in action you better run, jump and get tickets when she plays in your city. She is one of the original bad girls of comedy. She still has her right on perspective of current events. Her timing is flawless and she can sing.

Once again, Sandra Bernhard brings her totally unique style of performing to the stage. She makes us laugh, she plays old favorite songs and in the processes reminices about other times all the while looking at ourselves today. I look forward to her New York performances because it is clear the audiences live for her pointed and poignant look at our own society. They scream, clap and yell back and Miss Bernhard always delivers in droves!

As usual, Sandra B was funny AND deep. She gave the unexpected laughs as well as the expected ones. You never knew what was coming around the corner, and that's why I love her. Frankly, too, she seemed very emotional at the end of this particular show -- I'm not sure why. She really appeared to appreciate the audience's reaction as much as we did seeing her. I can't wait for her decide to do a show again in NYC.

I saw her preview this show in Seattle and it was a sad, hot mess. She really got it together and rocked the house. Perhaps it was Seattle that was the problem and Miss B as her NY fans were loving her from the back row!

but I don't know it well enough that I know every word by heart. The Audio was absolutely terrible. I could not understand 80% of what she said. I was sitting front right orchestra behind a speaker. Whether that had anything to do with everything sounding garbled, I'm not sure.
The show struck me as too dated and talking about Christmas past in June seemed odd. I wanted to hear more fresh material, although it was apparent some current events were blended in.
The seats were also very uncomfortable with too little room between rows. So much for historical preservation !

Funny. Edgy. Sandra Bernhard is still at the top of her game whether retooling classic material or skewering current political or social climates, she is always witty, entertaining, and her own brand of genuine. A must see for intelligent folks.

I have seen Sandra many times and this was by far the most moving, transcendent show of hers that I've ever seen. Parts of the show were so funny, that I was in tears. She truely is one of a kind. There is no one like her. I hope she puts on more amazing shows in the near future.
