This was my first time seeing a *real* band live, so I'm probably not the best person to ask....but it was a god-tier event to say the least~ I found a new favorite musician in opening act Frank Turner, with his charming mannerisms and down-to-earth songwriting style; his act was a great way to set the mood for the main set....Sum 41 followed up with an explosive performance that left my voice completely shot for the next week; the performance was so energetic and fast-paced (you pretty much *had* to shout along, Deryck Whibley plays the audience so well) that by the time the Offspring came out, I was ready to pass out from heat exhaustion....I went back, bought two or three bottles of watter from the condiment stand, chugged 'em, and managed to stay alive throughout the Offspring set (which was nothing short of memorable --- they played a lot of old songs, nothing off the first 2 albums but that was expected, plus like half of Smash and Americana, including some rare numbers not often played live, like Walla Walla).
Long story short....I was so blown out by this performance that the 7 1/2-hour drive it took to reach St. Augustine was wholly justified~ All we could think about all the way home was how deliberately awesome that show was. A great first band to see live, if I do say so myself (speaking for both Sum 41 and Offspring, that is)!
