It was good to see Cracker rock again. They largely did away with David Lowery's acoustic strumming and played rock n' roll like they did in their mid 90's heyday.
Johnny Hickman's Les Paul stylings were superb as usual, but he can't come close to hitting the high notes on the "Sweet Thistle Pie" backing vocal. His only misstep of the night.
The drummer was average. I would've liked a little more snap in the kit. Lowery is obviously entering his Bob Weir stage, what with the beard and extra 35 lbs... Hickman hasn't aged a day. The bass player was decent, if unremarkable.
The songs from the new album were all actually pretty good. As I said, it's nice to see this band back to rocking again and largely moving away from Lowery's plaintive strummy ballads.
