I'm the type who would just as happily listen to a cd at home rather than go to an event. Usually the sound is better through my stereo system anyway. My mind was changed and also blown when my husband convinced me to get tickets to see Kenny Wayne. I love listening to his music at home, but experiencing his magic live was unbelievable! Not one member of the band made a single mistake during the entire performance and the result was excellent, entertaining music that kept me moving during the whole concert. Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his band are a great team that move fluidly through one hit after another without missing a stroke. This was one of the best concerts I've ever been to and I will never forget it!

Right from the first song, KWS and the band was in their groove- loud, crisp, melodic. Terrific mix of new and catalog tracks, and in the encore, I think Kenny called an audible, busting out a blistering version of 'King Bee' that echoed the sizzle and sass of the original with the power and confidence of a modern artist at the top of his craft.

kenny wayne was excellent. He rocked - lotta talent in that band too. Venue is ok, very dark and for some unknow reason they make you wait outside until an hour before the show. Upstate NY is a little chilly in March

Awesome show. Great venue to see a show. It is a small nightclub and we were able to get up front and watch the band up close and personal.

I didn't care for the warm up band. Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band was awesome! I just love Kenny's electrifying guitar playing. Even though Hunt's voice was great as usual, I was concerned that he was ill. He was very thin and kept leaving the stage. I hope he is okay.

By far the best show i have ever seen. KWS seemed like he was in a trance and wasn't gonna stop playing until he was released. The first few songs made me want to burn my 3 guitars, the rest of the show inspired me to find the place he gets his inspiration from. Great venue, had a small issue with the food service, other than that, a great evening. If you love the blues and great guitar, don't miss the chance to attend a Kenny Wayne Shepard show.

Kenny Wayne is the best guitarist in the realm of Blue's based Rock n Roll. You can hear in him Howling Wolf, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and of course Jimi Hendrix.

This was our first time to this venue and it was awesome. The sound for Robert Cray was better .Kenny Wayne was a little too loud and vocals were not clear but both shows were memorable

Most definately the best show of the season, and I've seen several this year. The virtuosity of KWS has not been heard since Stevie Ray. Robert Cray is as consistent as always, both are very entertaining and soulfull bluesmen. That night, at that location, the best music on the planet was heard. I was very fortunate to be present.

May second time seeing Robert Cray. He is a seasoned professional and always puts on a good show. First time seeing KWS Band. Played most of my favorites and sounded great doing it.

My only complaint is about people lingering in the aisle and blocking the audience view of the stage. This was exacerbated by the theater ushers who took way to long to seat people.

Robert Cray opened up and played a somewhat motivated set of about an hour. Band was good, and although you could have stayed home and listened to a Greatest Hits disc, he did give some effort. But Robert Cray Live is anything but a show. I was looking forward to Kenny Wayne Shepherd, who was a complete disapointment. The singer Noah Hunt has a pretty good voice, but has zero stage presence and acted as if the show was a waste of his time. Chris Layton the drummer couldnt be less interested and should have been put out to pasture 10 years ago. Tony Franklin on bass is a good player, but the sound was so muddy the bass overpowered everything. Riley Osbourne was on keys, I think hes a roadie's grandfather filling in but it didnt matter, you couldnt here anything he was playing. Now of course, hot shot Shephard who is a rock star in his own mind and played nothing adventurous or of interest. Every cliche blues guitar riff there is and acted like he couldnt wait to leave. Of course, cause he walked off after 45 mins. Came out for a brief oncore and goodnight. I cant imagine anyone at this show wanting to see him again. Waste of money and time........................

Real good show @ The Wilbur! The two bands have been alternating who headlines and who opens; I'm glad I caught a night when The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band closed. Nothing against Robert Cray; he's a great blues man, a great guitarist, and has had a long distinguished career with multiple Grammies and other awards. But its a more subdued show, and KWS had a much higher energy level. I had friends that went the following night when KWS opened, and they left midway thru RC's set. I can appreciate the energy let down; so, glad I got to see and enjoy Robert Cray first before being taken to another level by KWS.

And if you've never seen The KWS Band: you're missing out on a great guitarist! Saw him last year, and will catch him whenever he tours in the area.

And a huge THANK YOU to Noah Hunt (KWS's singer). I had a front row seat, and brought a photo collage I made from last year's show. During the encore, I placed it on the stage so the guys would see it and hopefully sign it before they left the stage. But a roadie saw it, must have thought it was a safety hazard, came out and took the poster away. I thought that was the end of that. But after the encore, Noah comes over, high fives me, and takes the Sharpie from my hand (I knew THAT was a good sign!). A couple minutes after the band had left the stage, the roadie comes back out with the poster with Kenny and Noah's autographs on it. Cool. Thanks Noah!

Sorry, but I was not impressed overall with the Robery Cray Band, however his keyboard player was awesome!! I believe they could have picked a better selection of songs.

KWS wowed with his guitar skills, and overall they were impressive. However, I think they needed to do a sound check before playing. The sound was not great and I couldn't get the full effect of the highlighted musicians. Even KWS's guitar could have been louder and more pronounced.

Overall, it was OK. I would have recommended the show had the sound been better. It was probably the venue because the band was tight!

As part of my package, I was supposed to meet the Robert Cray Band. That never happened. Apparently, we missed "the group" taken backstage by 2 minutes, and Robert Cray closed the doors. Extremely disappointing. Furthermore, he proceeds to go on stage and overall, gives a dull, lackluster performance. Yet another disappointment.
Thankfully, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his band made this show worthwhile. They brought the house down with a riveting and powerful performance.
In the future, I recommend that the venue/bands make it clear as to who goes on first. No one at the Bergen Performing Arts Center had a clue as to what the lineup was. I think that should be made clear to the paying customers. If I had known, I wouldn't have rushed there to miss the meet and greet by 2 minutes, just to sit through an hour and a half of Robert Cray's standoffish performance.

As expected, KWS delivered a phenomenal performance. Quite entertaining scene when his wireless guitar cord started causing issues during Blue on Black. Didn't affect his playing at all and great work from the techie. One of the best versions of Hendrix's Voodoo Chile you'll ever hear live. KWS = phenom.

Robert Cray Band played for about an hour and 15 minutes, which was about an hour too long! His guitar solos all started with the same bend and lacked any innovation or bite. At one point, someone yelled "give us Kenny!" His keyboard/organ player stole the show though and Cray should have him solo.

My wife and I had VIP meet and greet tickets and we hung out with R.C. and band in the pen house of the Bergen Pac. When you get to meet a great band with only 5 other VIPS it becomes personal and layed back. They are a friendly bunch and we had a few laughs. Robert told me that he still gets the jitters before the show R.C went on first and the set was flawless and the band was tight. I know that KWS is a great guitarest but the package was not complete. The sound mix was off and the lead singer did not impress me. After all these years Kenny should have learned how to sing,lead. He does sing harmony on quite a few songs. Over all a spectacular evening out

I've been waiting to see KWS perform for the last ten years and finally saw him last weekend in Englewood, nj. Truly amazing guitarist. Loved when he put guitar behind his back and continued playing. Loved, absolutely LOVED his rendition of Voodoo Child! Will definitely see him again! One of the best concerts I've seen... And I'm 53!!! That's saying a lot !
