Favorite moment: While the band was playing on stage, suddenly a spot light shone into the crowd and there was Najee, playing and coming down the steps slowly. @

Setlist: Was more of his latest music and obviously was purposeful that it was for some old and more new listeners. None of the older, slower “Tokyo Blue” type music. @

Opening act(s): Given the fact that in the past Pieces of a Dream has always been the headliner, it was quite different to have them as the opening act. After the concert, I would of rather had Pieces of a Dream be the headliner and Najee be the opening act. @

Only because it is Najee, I would recommend his concerts. However, even as amped up as you may get for the overall event itself, Najee really didn't play that much during his own concert. A woman sitting next to me actually pointed it out during the first 15 minutes of the concert. As an observation, I began to watch a little more intently, all the while, still enjoying the concert. Afterward, I did notice it as she had called it. The concert went on, but between the solos of the band members, the introduction of a "rapper/jazz" piece and his coming on several minutes into the show, his time of actual playing was limited. The audience does get "jazzed" up by his coming down the steps to start off, and the fact that he doesn't hurry to the stage gave the show some nice entertainer/audience intimacy. Overall a B+.

I love chene park and Najee the setting was beautiful especially with the backdrop of the boats in the background on the water, I just have one complaint not even a complaint, but the sound system is off somewhat you can actually hear it better from the outside of the venue. The instrumental sounds are excellent, however, when there is singing it does not come across well. Overall I would strongly recommend all my friends to attend all musical events at Chene Park. The atmosphere is wonderful.

This performance was awesome. I love the way he interacts with the crowd....you can tell he enjoys coming to detroit to perform...every time he comes i make it my business to get tickets to see him...he is a must show to see

Najee, is not only throwing down smooth jazz , but he has learn to infuse a little rock and old school rap to keep his show hot. Najee, is at the top of his game when he lets his audience know that he can also play classical music if he so desired.

I really enjoyed the enter show. It was a nice night to be at CHENE PARK, I first i ever heard Najee play. I never seen PIECES OF A DREAM before they where wonderful. It was a special treat when the Artist's did a part of he show to show a Apprecation to the KING MICHEAL JACKSON. that made the show even the better it was just a wornderful night... Myself and Husband had a wonderful night. time was loved by us.great job to both of the artist.

the opening act, pieces off a dream where excellent!!! they could have easy been the MAIN act!!! their stage present and sounds were awesome. i will be attending their next performance. najee was superior as always. my husband and i really did get our money,s worth of TOP entermainment. we had not attend a jazz concert at chene park for at least eight years, THIS WAS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT (ONE OF MANY0) FROM MY HUSBAND!!! i am married to the world's greatest husband......
