As a long time Neil fan, and impressed with the strength of his new album, Psychedelic Pill,
I was ready for a great show. As many other reviews have stated, this was the best Neil Young performance I have ever seen.

This may be the last chance to see the best concert you might ever see. I guarantee, you have never seen such a well done theatrical presentation, and the most incredible music, of the highest quality sound, you have ever heard.

This is the tour, Neil has and his fans talk about for a long time. Do not miss it.

I will acknowledge that Neil Young may be an acquired taste, like fine bourbon or single malt whiskey, but once acquired, his music becomes a lifelong love. It has been for me, anyway. The concert was one of the best I have ever seen and heard, from the aching beauty of The Needle and the Damage Done, to the raw power and wistfulness of Walk Like a Giant.

Neil Young at the Ryman in Nashville last night
His voice was pristine.
Perfect light delivery, keeping it fresh sounding, but somehow the punch was still deadly.
Neil was like a little kid in a sandbox. It made for an intimate peek. He was enthralled and his energy was extraordinarily beautiful.
However, he didn’t really pay attention to who was out there.
He just drew the energy innocently like it was simply nature. But his perfect absorption also meant that when his die hard grunge fans raised the roof, he was thrust over towards his electric guitars a little too often, and with more and more reckless abandon, was drawn into the throngs of seat shaking volume.
He was a one man band, complete with intuitive dynamics, spot on hook lines and solos, and eloquence was just flowing from him. He had the stage arranged hap hazardly with his favorite pianos and guitars, like the dingy inside of a bar. And, between songs would wander around following the lure. He’d rub his chin in contemplation, and quickly decide “yes, this is good”. Then would come the next offering. Just as patient and deliberate as you please. He sunk into every song, whether it was a popular one or not. He showed loyalty to all his lyrics.
He didn’t speak much. But his entourage (the audience) thrilled to every nuance and stood up cheering at every opportunity. I marveled at his huge talent. And his tall frame wisping and grooving like a boy of twenty. You are really something neil, you know..

Stage set was outstanding! If you've been to Neil's website, it made an awful lot of sense. The large screen TV's in each corner allowed us to see the show even from a distance. Neil's guitar work was outstanding, and his signature sound was unmistakable! The band was balanced and mixed perfectly from our seats. Neil was on my bucket list, and I am very happy to have seen him with one of the bands that launched his career. Though I am a die-hard fan, I recognized only 3-4 songs. Some from the early Crazy Horse albums, and a few popular ones..Needle and Cin. Girl. The rest I did not know, and this is the one criticism I have. He marketed his album 'Americana' with the ticket purchase. Not a bad album! But he performed his other new album, almost in its entirety, without it even being released. I would have really liked to play the newer album 6-7 times before the show. That's just me. One last comment. NO HARMONICA at all! The group I was with were salivating for some of the classics. Admittedly, I could have used a break from the electric jams myself. I grew up with Neil, Smoked to Neil, screwed to Neil, given Neil as a gift to best friends.....I just wanted to get some of that back. I will see him again at some point, and I think this concert will make me appreciate the next one even more.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse is one of the most important bands to me for the last 40 of my 49 years so maybe I"m a bit biased.This show was on the money musically, sounding beautiful and the visuals was awesome with mad scientists roadies running about and cranking up the covers off the amps and all 4 guys looked to be feeling good and having fun.They mixed it up great playing oldies like Cinnamon Girl, and what a version of Cortez the Killer,awesome!!!!to new songs like Walks like a Giant and Ramada Inn,great new stuff. We are lucky to have such an iconic band still touring and creating great new music.I traveled to see this show and wish I could have seen more of this tour.

Almost a caricature of himself. Neil has always marched to a different drum but this concert was eccentric and strange. Go up there and play the songs---don't play a concert like it's an experimental session in the studio or at home. The 25 minute episode of some really bad feedback early in the concert was inexcusable. He can do this by himself. Many fans around me expressing these views also. If you don't want to play the songs we came for, stay at home and don't rip us off with expensive tickets--a bad contrast to the recent C,S, and N concerts of which I saw 2.

Having seen Neil Young in different settings over the years, solo acoustic, CSN&Y, Greendale Tour, Life Tour and with Crazy Horse in 1996, as well as the 2009 tour it will come as no surprise to anyone that this is the show you don't want to miss. Although casual fans may have missed out on Harvest and After the Goldrush and other radio friendly songs, Crazy Horse is a classic throw back garage/jam band of the best variety. Neil's voice was as strong as ever with the band perfectly driving and crunching their way through essential Crazy Horse long (some very long) set pieces. Highlights for me were the opening Love and Only Love, Powderfinger (my personal Neil & Crazy Horse favorite) the new Walk Like a Giant, Mr. Soul (Buffalo Springfield) and the acoustic The Needle and the Damage Done. Sound mix was great, acoustics in the venue were far better than the last show I attended at Harbor Yard (the Who in 2006). Couple of gripes about the arena......parking was $20, having attended many hockey games the tripling of the price is outrageous......also the venue operators should have definitely had more entrances available, having to fight traffic and then stand outside for 25 minutes waiting to get in is inexcusable. At least the weather was cooperating. Security and staff were pleasant and as efficient as they could be given the circumstances. Best part of the show for me was converting my son who is an accomplished musician in his own right to a huge Nel Young and Crazy Horse fan. The best Neil I've seen, ever.

I had forgotten how small the venue was. It only holds 10,000. The floor is basketball court-sized. Our seats were awesome. Patti Smith was awesome. Neil and Crazy Horse were awesome. They clearly let it all hang out, as this was the end of the tour. Also, I must remember not to go another 37 years between Patti Smith shows.

Patti was awesome as always; in only an hour she managed to cover something from just about every era of her career, and she danced around and was sooo sexy! Neil, who I was seeing for the first time, was just amazing. In great voice, played guitar and piano beautifully and was so full of energy; he and Patti are truly an embodiment of never being too old to rock! The show was great value for the money too; Neil performed for almost three hours. Altogether unforgettable evening :)

First off, Patti smith did a fantastic set. I wish she had played more. (Could've done without warm-up band Everest).

Neil Young didn't seem to want to end any songs-- they just kept going and going. The audience had no idea when to applaud as the song endings were unclear. Seemed like a great big jam session at times. When he played a well-known song, the crowd went wild. Did not understand the stage set-up (giant amps and a giant mike-- what for?). At times I was bored.
