Purchasing the YES MEET AND GREET PACKAGE was a very wise decision along with the fact that it didn't rain. The whole ambiance of the show was great from the time I spent inside the venue pre-show. The workers were nice and friendly to talk with. ASIA sounded fantastic and it was hard to believe they formed twenty-something odd years ago. John's vocals were clear and controlled and Steve Howe's virtuosity continued to shine through each song, playing chordal rhythms with ease and fluidity. I feel that in the 55 minutes or so that the band played, they had chosen their set judiciously.
YES in one word was OUTSTANDING! The individual talant is a human wonder in itself. Benoit did an excellent job filling in for Jon Anderson and I must say, a very nice fellow backstage as well, very personable and candid. I enjoyed speaking with him and let him know it was a nice gesture for him to wear a Pittsburgh Penguin shirt for the encore Starship Trooper, a fan favorite selection. Allan White's drum solo was crisp and tight, Chris Squire's melody lines were a gift to my ears and Oliver Wakeman is a chip off the old block (refering to his father Rick). Oliver states that his dad is doing fine. Steve has been my personal influence for 35 plus years and his technical skills are better than ever, tight melodic lines, amazing Fender pedal work and untouchable acoustic power.
WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DOUBLE BILLED NIGHT! THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED FOR MAKING THIS COME TO FRUITION.
