Robin Trower and his band line-up at the Culture Room Sunday October 18, 2009 were excellent. All members played with soul and precision.

The sound was not so loud that you could not hear the musicians or too low. Quality of the sound was excellent as it should be for a band of this high caliber.

I wanted to hear more of the new Robin Trower CD "What lies Beneath". Regardless the show was played well and the sound was very good.

After more than 40 years doin' what he does, age did not show in the licks he laid out on his cherry red fender. Robin Trower is a true master of the guitar. Mixing a set of newer songs with a heaping helping of classic tunes the night was an absolute blast! After the show he also proved to be a real down to earth guy as well, taking the time to meet his fans with a warm smile and a kind spirit. This kind of show is a rare gem. His days filling large stadiums may be over but for those of us who took the time to see him in such an intimate setting were all the more rewarded for it.

Robin Trower can still rock with the best!! Over all, it was a good show, great sound, and brought back a lot of memories. The Culture Room is a good venue also.

The opening band sucked big time, the guitar player showed up only for the last song. The sound system was terrible.

Robin came out 2 hours late and the sound system still sucked but at least he was playing his greats. I would see Robin again in a minute but not at the Culture Room, that place ruined it for me.

Opening with the title track of his first album, Twice Removed From Yesterday, Robin
rocked The Culture Room last night. For nearly two hours he entertained us with his unique blues rock guitar riffs with favorites like For Earth Below, Day of the Eagle, Bridge of Sighs and ending the evening with Another time Another Place from the Living Out of Time album. He also played Time and Emotion a cut from the new CD, What Lies Beneath. This latest effort on its way to becoming another masterpiece.

This guy is as good as Jimmy Hendrix and can play for hours if you let him..Just his sessions of guitar playing can last a good well 20/60 mins and to cover all the songs, it's
shorten a little to a 10/15 mins...but what a guitar player and what a legend, I will never forget it the concert and his playing, It was an honor to see him live and say Thanks to Robin Personally .....what a guy and a proffessional....Thank You Ticket master and all sponors for bringing legend to my life, awesome show....Thank you second Hendrix, Robin Trower

It was a revisiting of 60's guitar rock that only could be matched, if Jimi Hendrix were still alive. The fantastic dream rock, that Trower has continued to write and play, reached out to the fans. It was nice to see young faces among the crowd ,who were acknowledged by Robin, while he played...Robin Trower is an emotional player that left quite an impression on my wife, stepson, and family friend. They were unfamiliar with him but now are buying and listening to his albums.
Robin Trower is the grandfather of, the music genre he helped create...

Robin is truly one of the top ten guitarist alive today. if you haven't seen him catch him while you can. If you have seen him you know what I'm talking about.. This guy is a cross between Jimi Hendrix and David Gilmour with a completly unique sound - a must see guitarest for anyone who likes rock.

The lead in performaer Sean Chambers was awesome. he should have played the whole night. His blues style is classic and clean. Strong vocals and great guitar.

Robin Trower was somewhat weak. He did not play his best songs. His lead singer was singing every song from a teleprompter! Come on a teleprompter to sing on a major tour? Plus the vocals were way too low compared to the guitar and the singer was eating his mike so he was hardly understandable. Guitar was way to overpowered and distorted beyond a good level. I expected more

I can't describe in just words the once in a lifetime experience of thoroughly enjoying a concert that was more than just music. Robin Trower is at the peak of his skill at making the Stratocaster come alive. It's almost as if the guitar takes on a life of it's own. This marvelous man captured the crowd from the moment he appeared on the stage. He was adored by his fans, from teens to seniors. He had a beaming smile every time he looked at the audience, they responded with cheering and applause.
He is truly a great musician of our time and a standard for all musicians to aspire.
I am grateful and honored to have seen and spoke with him and share with you this experience..........

It was great to see one of my Guitar heros live for the first time. I was right up front. (got his concert pick). I have to say though that the sound was not good. (being polite) The lead singer's sound was often garbled and full of feed back. Luckily Robin's guitar sound was fine although often compromised by the singer. I don't understand how bad sound cannot be corrected during the concert. Pretty annoying and I am not so sure I want to go to other concerts there if they cannot get the sound right. I was there for the WMNF birthday bash too and was not impressed by the sound either. If you are up front close to see the band it would be nice to have decent sound as well.

I have been a fan of Robin Trower for 35 years and have seen him over 15 times. He is as good as the first time I saw him in at the Miami Jali Ali fronton in the mid seventies.

Robin and the band came on stage to a track from his newest CD, "What Lies Beneath". From that point, Robin and company were off on an hour & 15 minute tour de force of pure guitar textures and tones at a healthy sound pressure level up past 100dB. I forgot to bring my Hearos earplugs that I had in my car for this show, so I will not be playing any of my own loud guitar until my ears have a rest. Anyway, it was healing loudness, not hurting in anyway.

Robin is ably supported by his band of crackshot musicians who really have a sensitivity to the music. Davy Pattison really conveyed the meaning in Robin's lyrics as well as contribute his own subtle vocal textures to the words.

The rhythm section of Glenn Letsch(sp?) and Pete Thompson were dead on solid as a rock. I personally prefer this lineup better than the lineup was in 2006, when I heard the band come through town at Jannus Landing. However, Robin had taken several years off from touring up to that time, so this tour follows on the strength of 2008's remarkable tour.

Robin brings his own sound man, who really knows his business and makes the whole band's sound swing.

Robin, compared to 2006, is in a whole 'nother area of artistic growth and his playing and tasty tone has only improved with time. Just outstanding. I could go on...

Robin Trower was incredible last night at the Variety Playhouse in ATL. It's amazing how great he still sounds and plays. We truly enjoyed it - and so did the packed house. Robin also was kind enough to sign autographs after the show. Still truly amazing!!
