Show was not bad. Sound man was VERY bad. Worst I have ever seen at any non-amateur concert.
Feedback was an issue for at least the first half of the show. Microphones kept feeding back somewhat loudly.
I am not a 70 year old person. I am 27, and have been to a lot of loud shows, but this one was WAY loud. I had to move back, because it was literally blaring.. I have seen Black Sabbath, and a lot of metal shows live, and rarely have I had this issue.
The sound man was simply not good, an older lady in front of me said "They're ruining the show" and said she had moved seats many times to get away from ear piercing levels.
Vocals were not balanced very well. Sometimes the bass singer stood out a lot in the mix, sometimes the lead singer was way louder than the rest.
After moving to the very back, furthest from the stage, I got to a respectable and listenable volume.
The performers were good, the new big guy lead singer was good, and funny. Besides all of the difficulties in sound, I have no complaints with the talent. They got a local brass section, and they were great. The bassist and guitarist were very good, too.
They put on a good show. I can't imagine the 70 somethings there could have handled the volume very well.
The singers were very good. You have to be good to be able to replace legends. the harmonies were good as expected.
Glad I can say I've seen them once, probably wouldn't go back to see them again. Nothing against the singers or the band, but their soundman (who judging by other comments must be their go-to guy) does a bad job. Read through the comments and you'll see that recurring theme. This many people won't be wrong.
But the Temptations themselves are great and fun performers. the new ones are very good themselves.
If not for the technical difficulties (I felt slightly embarrassed that this legendary band has to deal with amateur problems) It would have been a four star performance for sure. My Girl did still give me chills.
