I think it would have been much better had they appeared just with their rhythm group and themselves. The extra brass band just drowned out all the singing and voices.
Because of that load brass band could not hear the Temptations. And we were in row B.
So we were right there. The mike that Otis Williams had didn't seem to work at all.
Couldn't even hear him when he was simply speaking, it was as if he was speaking without the mike.
The Temptations were great, but were just drowned out by the brass band.

This was easily one of the top five live shows of my life. We were scheduled to be out of town on October 8th, so I didn't look into buying tickets earlyier, when I got the notice in August from the Civic Center. On October 5th, the out-of-town meeting was cancelled, so I went on line to look for "Best Available" seats, and for whatever wonderful reason, there were 2 seats in Row A! We had brought ear plugs to tone down the ear-splitting roar that a lot of groups employ in the hopes of making up for lack of talent. We didn't need them at all. The music was dynamite and brought me back to my youth. We were so close we could see them sweat and I was able to shake hands with all of them. I will always be ready to go to concerts performed by groups I've listened to and loved for all my life. Please keep up the great work. Jim T

It was close to 90 minutes of solid classic Temptations. Awesome dancing and their voices were very strong. No back-up singers for these guys! The local horn section was awesome. All of those musicians hit it hard for nearly ninety minutes straight. My son is a percussionist so we especially loved the drummer. They sang all their greatest hits and were thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks for a very enjoyable evening! God Bless!

I thought the accusitics were very bad in a venue that is usually exceptional. Their sound people were inconsistant with the levels of the microphones. I would not recommend, and I am a huge fan of their old music. Lastly, they were on stage for 70 minutes of which 10-15 minutes were used for introductions etc.

Are you kidding me? The Temptations were awesome. I was brought up on the oldies with my mom and dad spinning the old records. When I was in high school and the movie The Big Chill came out we all went out and bought the soundtrack. Lets not forget the movie Stand By Me a pure classic. Thanks to to the movie industry for keeping these timeless groups around by including their music in motion pictures. I took my mom to the Temptations for her 65th b-day. We had 4th row center, a perfect view. To the left of my mom was a mother daughter about our same ages as well to the right of me. We had the best group all around us just clapping and dancing and yelling out to the guys on stage. Thank you for a great time and maybe you could play a little longer next time because nobody in the first 5 rows wanted to go.

WE REALLY LIKED THE SHOW, BUT FOR THE MONEY WE THOUGHT IT WAS WAY TOO SHORT. BARELY AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES. THE CROWD TRIED TO GET THEM TO COME OUT FOR AN ENCORE, BUT NO LUCK! I WOULD NOT PAY THAT MUCH AGAIN.

Great show! They left everyone standing waiting for more. A lot of people were disappointed the show only lasted about an hour; but a lot was packed into that hour. Maybe they should have an opening act.

They started in motion ad they continued to sizzle all night long. Otis Williams may have been doing it over 40 years but he still has the stuff. The replacements he has to reconstruct the band do sound like their original counterparts so it was a wonderful amazing performance. The audience sure perked up and became electric toward the end due to the real spiritual soul these guys sing with. When they did the Temptations standard, My Girl ,all the women in the house thought they were singing to them. The sound was okay but they sang better than the sound equipment.,The theatre is a great environment and it looked like rented equipment they used I hope next time the civic center brings some A game sound equipment to match the vocal quality of the performers. Less harsh transisiters on the top how about some tubes on the top and relegate the transisters where they belong on the sub base. These guys sing well enough they deserved the best sound system available. I hope the Peoria Civic Center gets the HINT!!!! Great show would go again if they come back in the future

It was a great show but I expected more for the $140.00 we paid for our two tickets.
With the talking that took place, especially about 10 to 15 minutes to introduce everyone they actually only sang about a hour.

'Otis and company' delighted the entire audience with their electryfying, energetic, and quite personal performance. Each of the gentlemen left everyone feeling they were being sung to individually, leaving, undoubtedly, a lasting impression. With 3rd row orchestra seats in the very center, it was an experience I will never forget. The acapella selection was great as their huge hit, 'My Girl'. Thank you for bringing The Temptations to Peoria!

I saw the temptations in 1968 in Milwaukee, then again in 1989 @ Western University, they have ALWAYS put on a crowd pleasing show, In '68 they were youthful, in '89 age dictated a cardiologist accompany them and now Otis survives to carry the Legend on - Rock On MoTown ! ! Keep the Spirit alive

Over all I was very impressed with the group...however, I did not care for the "Rupert looking guy" and his singing...if you want to call all of that screaming that he did singing. If it had not been for him I would have given this event a 5 STAR rating. It was great to see that Otis could still do the moves and sound so great!!!

On the whole, it was good...can't remember names, so the heavy set singer screamed too much when he sang. the music overpowered the singing. it was hard to understand some of what they were singing. when they sang that one song without the instruments, their harmony was great.

also, the show basically was less than an hour. they came out about 8:15 and closed at 9:20...during that time they talked alot, introduced the band and themselves...i was disappointed in the amount of songs.

Although there may only be one orignal Temptation left, the group is still doing their thing. Melvin is making sure that the orginal flavor remains in tact and I enjoyed the show so much I wish it had been even longer. It was great seeing the Temptations live in concert. I know they are not the originals except for Mr. Otis Williams who still moves like he's back in the 60's. It was so much fun and this is the 2nd time I have seen them live at the Gibson.

The Temptations put on a great show although there was only one of the original members of the group. They sang all their hits which I was what I expected. They had their dance moves and were great entertainers.
The Four Tops sang a lot of their hits but it seemed more of a tribute to the original members who had passed away. Not as "up" as the Temptations. The lead singer didn't carry on the style of the original Four Tops, so that was a little disappointing.
I enjoyed the show overall and was glad to see the live performance of these two groups since I was not able to when I was younger.

I LIKE BOTH GROUPS HOWEVER THE TEMPATIONS HAD BETTER STAGE PRESENSE. THE LIGHTING FOR THE FOUR TOPS WAS NOT DONE VERY WELL. YET I LIKED THEIR MUSIC BETTER. THE TEMPATIONS SEEMS TO ENGAGE THE AUDIENCE MUCH BETTER.
