James was wonderful. His dry sense of humor and everyman presence on stage always makes you feel like he genuinely loves performing the songs that he has been singing for decades. His singers and band were awesome. James always shows his admiration for them by introducing them early and often in the show thereby keeping their names fresh in your mind. His drummer was probably the best drummer that I've seen in a live band to date. He was right on the beat and lead the band with much more leadership than you'd expect from such a young drummer. As usual, the James Taylor back-up singers are excellent. You can tell that he has been with most of them for many years and we enjoy seeing them each time he has come to San Diego County (which isn't nearly often enough). The keyboard, fiddle, bass and guitar were equally excellent.

The only thing that did not live up to the rest of this wonderful night was the organization that Valley View has on crowd movement in and out of the venue. The sound was great, and the Valley View employees were helpful, however, the line to wait for the buffet took us one hour. This only gave us 20 minutes to eat before walking like a herd of cows to the venue...through the casino and into a huge traffic jam of people at the entrance of the seating area. If we were to go again, I would not eat at the casino.

I can hardly wait for James to come back - he was the highlight of my summer!!

Wonderful mix of old and new, mellow and upbeat, beautiful night at Puyallup Fair. A little confusing signage to find the correct "gate" for our seats but other than that James was as talented as ever.

I have seen James Taylor several times in the last 29 years and he never disappoints. He was totally entertaining with his humor and his still phenomenal voice.

He start the concert on time and sing his songs with a breif intro about the songs which is great I think that the row in the infeild are to close together

It couldn't have been a more perfect night. The weather was warm, and thankfully, the wind was still. From the moment JT walked out on stage, it was just fantastic! He engaged with the audience from the start, making us feel as though we were guests in his living room. I've always loved James Taylor, but seeing him live was beyond anything I could have imagined. I didn't want the evening to end. Just loved him.

The concert was great. We always try to take in one of the many concerts offered during the Western Washington Fair in Puyallup, WA. This year my husband and I were very excited to get great seats for James Taylor. The evening was perfect and James can still rock with the best of them. Thirty years ago when my husband to be and I met, james taylor's greatest hits album was the only album we both owned. It was so great to be there to share his outstanding music together after all these years.

We loved seeing James Taylor in person and hearing how fabulous he still is after all these years. It was a little hard to hear him during the first 2 or 3 numbers, but after a bit I believe they adjusted the mix and all was wonderful. The song selection was just the perfect mix. Only drawback was the staff/security guards that were standing behind us chose to talk through most of the concert until my husband got up and asked them to stop.

I have seen James Taylor 4 times now, and the Puyallup Fair concert was the best one yet. He is truly a talented and beautiful artist, who genuinely appreciated the standing ovation he received. He joked with the audience, explained the background of songs, displayed some hilarious showmanship singing "Steamroller", and graciously autographed items for many of the people in front of the stage. I drove 4 hours round trip to see him, and would gladly drive further. Everyone should see James Taylor perform at least once in their lives.

James, if you are reading these reviews, thank you for the wonderful music you have given us over the years. It is truly appreciated. :)

The James Taylor concert was one of the best concerts my husband and I have ever attended!! We bought the tickets as an anniversary present to each other(celebrating 34 yrs.
of marriage on Sept.10th) By far the best anniversary present we have ever given each other! Can only hope that he is playing again in the area next year around our anniversary date!!!!!!!

This was by far the best show I have been to at Wente. The weather was terrific and JT sounded the best I have ever heard him in concert. I hope he returns to Wente in the future; this is one concert I would gladly see again.

having been a serious concert goer in the 70s when in my teens, i'd never seen james taylor live and am so glad to have done so last weekend. he played both old favorites and new songs and all so well. i tell everyone he sounded great as did those he performed with.

it was thoroughly enjoyable to sit outside on a warm pnw night in the bleachers and listen to james sing and play guitar. to hear a performer not only sing but interact with his audience, even signing whatever was handed to him from those in front of the stage, was magical. i left feeling the love all over again.

thank you james for taking me back to a very special time and reminding us what is really important. he's one of a kind- a legend....

I have listened to James Taylor's music since I was a teenager. Have always loved his music. What a wonderful evening! After the initial shock of seeing a thin older James walk out. But then I'm totally white myself. But with the first note it was back to my teen years!
What an awesome experience!

I've attended James Taylor shows since 1970. I've seen him solo, with Jo Mama, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, solo and with various bands. The Puyallup show was good if predictable. Mostly hit driven with a stripped down band and back-up singers. I think he's had better players in the past. Take a listen to some of his live CD's. This bunch kinda walked through it. But Taylor has great stage presence and I always enjoy his tunes no matter how many times I've heard em. Maybe it's time to push the envelope a little.
