James was wonderful. His dry sense of humor and everyman presence on stage always makes you feel like he genuinely loves performing the songs that he has been singing for decades. His singers and band were awesome. James always shows his admiration for them by introducing them early and often in the show thereby keeping their names fresh in your mind. His drummer was probably the best drummer that I've seen in a live band to date. He was right on the beat and lead the band with much more leadership than you'd expect from such a young drummer. As usual, the James Taylor back-up singers are excellent. You can tell that he has been with most of them for many years and we enjoy seeing them each time he has come to San Diego County (which isn't nearly often enough). The keyboard, fiddle, bass and guitar were equally excellent.
The only thing that did not live up to the rest of this wonderful night was the organization that Valley View has on crowd movement in and out of the venue. The sound was great, and the Valley View employees were helpful, however, the line to wait for the buffet took us one hour. This only gave us 20 minutes to eat before walking like a herd of cows to the venue...through the casino and into a huge traffic jam of people at the entrance of the seating area. If we were to go again, I would not eat at the casino.
I can hardly wait for James to come back - he was the highlight of my summer!!

What a wonderful concert. I loved the music and the artist - so personable. Even from far up in the stands I could feel the warmth and charm.

EXCELLENT! CLASSIC!! ENTERTAINING!!! PURE TALENT!!!! No pyrotechnics, no frills, no hoochie dancers, no laser show but a GREAT CONCERT. James played most of his greatest hits and it sounded right off the albums. He's frozen in time and his talent as a songwriter/singer stands out. He was funny, told stories to the audience and very connected to his music, his band and the audience. Closed the concert with him signing every autograph requested while sitting on the end of the stage and people from all over running up with pen and paper, shirt and hat. CLASS ACT all the way. Have been wanting to see James Taylor live forever and it was definitely worth the wait.

He is such a talented musician, playing not only his guitars but the harmonica and of course his vocals was top notch! I love it when the artist sings his songs just like how he recorded it! His backup singers as well as his musicians are all talented in their own right too. His humor, his stories about how his songs came about and of course his music makes a great show. He's just AWESOME!

Flew to Oahu to see JT again; NEVER miss him when he comes to Hawaii! We had GREAT seats, and James was in his usual fine form. We have come to really enjoy his between songs banter, he is wryly hilarious! You just have to listen carefully.
He is such a great man, often deferring to his fellow musicians on stage and graciously thanking each and every one. We loved the backup singers; Kate is always a joy to hear and watch once again.

The master storyteller delivers an amazing performance... He's still got it. The band is full of very talented artists as well. FYI, if you're going to buy any souvenirs, his T-shirts are cut smaller than they look and they will shrink. If in doubt, definitely buy the larger size.

Great concert! Wished we were sitting closer. But sound was good. Would have been nice to have video screen to help those far away to see the performers better.

Friends bought me a ticket - I went in rather indifferent to James Taylor and left a HUGE FAN! It was an amazing concert. Started on time - he played over 2 1/2 hours. It was just amazing. I can't rave enough!
Best concert I've ever been to... everyone in the world needs to see this man perform! Even if you don't consider yourself a fan - go, you won't be sorry!

Likely the best concert I have ever attended. He makes it personal with comments about the songs. He came back onstage for three encores.
Acoustics were great. His fingerstyle is so crisp and you can hear the individual strings.

...it was like sitting on his back porch with him...great music...easy "conversation" ... Amps weren't blasting, making ear plugs unnecessary... Having an intermission was much appreciated...would we go to another of his concerts? ... Absolutely!!

My husband is a HUGE fan of James Taylor since the late 60's. We have never heard him in concert before, but by the time we bought our tickets the only seats available were in the nose-bleed section. However, as a singer musician myself, I was thoroughly impressed with how great JT sounded after all these years. It was as if we were listening to his original recordings; his voice was impeccably clear & faultless. Despite being so far away from the stage, we LOVED every minute of this concert. James Taylor was absolutely fabulous! We would definitely go to see him again but next time we will get our tickets early so we can be close enough to see his face.

James Taylor's voice still sounds as good as ever, & everyone who played with him was top notch! I only wish I had seen him before. He is someone who can play a diverse range of styles (folk, blues, rhythm & blues, rock..) & yet it all sounds uniquely like him at the same time.
