My husband and I are 59 and love Rod Stewart! We loved him when he was with the Faces. His concert was fabulous! He played a wonderful mix of his tunes, loved the sax player, and the set. He had a great sense of humor with all the ladies tossing their nickers on stage and walked around shaking their hands on the front of the stage. He even made a comment about sitting in the seats you paid so much for! He was gracious about thanking everyone for paying the cost of the tickets to see him in such economic stressful times.
He played all my favorite songs and I would definately see him again if he comes back to Dallas.

Favorite moment: When Rod walked over to the side where we were and looked right towards me. WOW I was so excited. @

Setlist: Every song that he sings is a favorite. But when he sings Have I Told You Lately That I Love You and Maggie May it just wouldn't be a concert without Maggie. @

Opening act(s): The opening act was fantastic. I bought there CD and have down loaded some of the songs to my MP3 player. Good choice. @

I am never let down when I go see Rod Stewart. This is the first time seeing him at the Arco Arena. What a wonderful experience that was. Everyone was very well organized. The ushers were polite while showing us to our seats. The consessions were fantastic. The other guest at the concert were all very nice. We were talking with people in front of us and behind us. All were just excited and waiting to see Rod. I have been going to Rod Stewart concerts for many years and this is by far one of the best ones.

Not only is Rod Stewart a phenomenal singer/artist, he is also an exceptional entertainer (while remaining a genuine human being), which makes his concerts stand out with the best of them! He continues to give his fans an excellent show!

Aug 5th at the Arco arena was the 16th time I have seen Rod in concert. The 1st was in March of 1979 during his Blondes have more fun Tour. I was 17 and I though Rod was the best singer of the times.
Flash forward 30 years, and there I am watching Rod again but this time with my wife and 2 daughters, 20 and 17 years old.
My daughters grew up singing Rod Stewart songs around the house and here they were singing along with Rod in person with their dad.
Rod's music has been the soundtrack of my life and as a vocalist and musician of course my influence has been Rod Stewart.

What was the difference between Rod's concert in 79 and in 09?
Not much (besides the spandex and a bit more jumping around back then).
Sure the crowd was older but it is amazing to hear Rod sound better than ever singing every song old or new with the same passion and conviction as if he was ageless and timeless.
He looks as fit as ever and his band sounds fresh and crisp. I also noticed that most of the members have been with him since his tour of 84'

The one critique i have is that Rod stopped writing and singing original songs with his 95 Album A spanner in the works.
His concert would have been perfect had one of the greatest song writers of all time unveiled new material.
I saw an interview not too long ago and Rod said that people just don't want to hear his generation of singers messages anymore and that he stopped writing due to lack of interest.
I wish I could tell Rod how wrong he is.

His misinterpretation of his challenges selling his style of music began with Spanner.
After an ovewhelmingly successful early 90s with Unplugged and Vagabond Heart,
Rod changed direction with Spanner, The uneven album was the 1st effort by Rod that had very few original Rod penned songs. The 1st 4 tracks were slow and not the sound of a typical Rod album. The fans did not recieve it well and without a standout hit, it did not have the success of previous albums. Every album that followed, When we were the new boys and even a very underrated Human did not feature or highlight original Rod music.

Bottom line: Rod states that the fans left him and his original music, quite the contrary, it was Rod that left the original music and the fans and new fans merely reacted to his un-original efforts with luke warm reception.
Afterall, what does one of the most prolific songwriters of all time expect from his fans when he stops writing original music.

Rod needs to go back and review the music on his albums since 95. The major success did not follow his uneven offerings when original music was not the majority of the songs included. Rod has always enjoyed adding a remake or 2 but starting with Spanner, the originals were virtually non-existent and not coincedently he did not enjoy the commercail success in the late 90s as he did in the eraly 90s.

Despite the success of his songbook standards in the 2000's, Rod needs to give his orignal music another shot. The fans want it and I hope he realizes that he stopped writing way too soon.

One more thing Rod, I have never met you but thank you for being that soundtrack to my life and for the fact you have provided me and my family some great memories and Aug 5th was no exception.

I have been a fan of Rod Stewart for several decades, and he was on my "bucket list"...wanted to see him before I kicked the bucket...He was phenomenal. The sound system was pathetic. I will probably not return to any concert at Woodlands Pavilion unless and until they upgrade the system.

Rod Stewart was in great form at this show. He played all his hits, lots of cover songs that he made famous, and his daughter even came out to sing two cover songs herself. She has a great voice. Too bad Rod cancelled his tour.

This was my first visit to a concert at the MGM. It was everything I expected and more.
Rod Stewart can rock the house any ole' time. He was amazing. Yet again,,he always is.
The only disappointing thing about the concert was I didn't get to buy a T-Shirt!!!!! Didn't see any where to buy one after the concert.

This is the 5th time I've seen Rod Stewart in Sacramento. He has always put on on excellent show. I was commenting after the concert how much I like when he kicks the soccer balls into the audience. He shows a personal side of himself. I also like the way he lets his band members have the spotlight. They're all so talented and it shows how he respects their talents. Besides enjoying Rod's music for the past 36 years, my boyfriend buys me roses and rents a limo for each concert. I can't wait to hear his next CD. Thanks Rod.

We attended Rod Stewart's concert at the Target Center in Minneapolis on August 18th. The concert was EXCELLENT!!! Rod's voice and energy was amazing. His band and back-up singers did a great job, and Rod's setlist was outstanding. I would definately recommend his concert to young and old alike!! Way to go ROD!!!!!!!!!!

Rod Stewart, back up singers and band were very good. I especially like his soft rock songs. The music sounded a little loud for the vocalist. The opening band I did not care for because I do not care for that style music for the most part. I do not feel that the Target Center controls the crowd very well. The audience was loud, standing up (some even on chairs), They sang parts of some songs (I come to hear the artist and his back up singers sing). The seats on the main floor were narrow and attached, so if a larger person is on one they tend to be over onto the chair beside them as well. People were throwing things up on stage and taking pictures. I have been to concerts where the audience was asked to remain seated so all can see and enjoy the concert. I feel that would have been more appropriate and enjoyable.

Rod will soon be 65 and wasn't feeling well ("a bit dodgy" as he put it) the night of the concert and still put on a fantastic show. I would make it a point to see him again if he returns to the Twin Cities.

I don't think we sat down during the whole performance. He was funny and laughed at himself. I can't believe the review in the Star Trib thought he started out slow. One of the best concerts I have attended in years. All age groups were having a great time.

This was my first time getting to see a Rod Stewart show. I really enjoyed it and wanted to follow him to the next act, but wasn't able too.
I wish that I could have been closer, but still had a good seat.
It was louder than I expected. The opening act was hurting my ears it was so loud. It got a little better when Rod Stewarts performance started.
I enjoyed him in all ways when he sang. He interacted with the crowed and has a sense of humor. I wish it had all been him, but his daughter and the others were nice to hear also.
It's too bad I wasn't able to get a soccer ball.
I didn't get to hear some of my favorite songs, but still loved what he did sing.
Anxiously waiting to see him again! I hope he continues touring a while longer.

Unable to see him and had to rely on the big screen. He sounded great, but so many people stood up in front of us and next to us (turning sideways) that even though we had purchased good seats, we were unable to view Rod Stewart! That really STUNK!
