I saw Slayer at Indio in April 2011 as part of the Big 4. It was a dream for me, as I'd never seen them live after becoming a fan of theirs in the late '80's. Then, we traveled to Pittsburgh and saw them at the AE Stage in July and I was down front for the first three songs (World Painted Blood; Hate Worldwide; War Ensemble). They are a fantastic live show and I can honestly say I'm a bigger fan of them in my forties than I was in my twenties when it all began.

I went to the original Clash off the Titans tour at the Cow Palace when I was in high school so I was pumped about going to this one in Ft Wayne. Anthrax was great although short (only 40min), it was good to see Joey back.
Megadeth kicked ass! and got the crowd into it. They played all of Rust in Peace, and a couple from countdown and youthanasia and closed with PeaceSells.
The security was fairly successful at stopping the pit and surfing, that is till SLAYER lit the crowd up then there was no stoppin it, but it was great cause there was enough 'ol school metal heads to keep the kids in check(when someone fell down they got helped back up) and nobody got hurt and I only seen one small fight.
SLAYER was friggin awesome Tom looked and sounded great, Kerry is THE KING, and it was awesome to here Dave play agin!!!! They played half of South, half of Seasons, three from Painted, two from Reign, and one from Mercy.

Show was defiantly worth my fifty bucks!!!

Simply put, an awesome show. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because of the setlists by all three bands. I did enjoy hearing Megadeth play "Rust In Peace" all the way through, and Slayer play "Seasons in the abyss", but i would have preferred a more varied set. Testament didn't play "Over The Wall", or "Practice what you preach", so that was disappointing. Other than that, everything was amazing. Megadeth was my personal favorite on the night, Dave Mustaine and Chris Broderick wowed the audience with some amazing guitar work, and played alot more songs I was familiar with (Holy Wars, Hangar 18, Take No Prisoners, Tornado of Souls, Rust In Peace...Polaris, Trust, Head Crusher, A Tout Le Monde, Symphony of Destruction, Peace Sells). Slayer was relentless. I really only like 3 songs on "Seasons in the abyss" (War Ensemble, Dead Skin Mask, and the title track), so i didn't know most of the songs. Raining blood and Angel of Death were definitely the highlights of the set, pure head banging awesomeness. Overall I definitely would recommend seeing all three bands if you're a true metalhead!

as expected all three bands were incredible. my only complaint is with the venue. pain the butt to get in and out of, $25 to park and $8 for crappy beer. really wish bands would play in philadephia instead of camden.

Tom Araya has found the fountain of youth! He looks exactly the same as he did when I used to see Slayer 20+ years ago in Bayridge Brooklyn. Band was incredible, sounded so tight and heavy, Tom's voice is the best out there... For the headline act they didn't play long enough.
Megadeth was great, Dave Mustaine is a genius. Would have been nice to hear "Wake Up Dead", "In My Darkest Hour", "Hook In Mouth".

Most metal show that ive been to in a while. had to travel 4hrs just to be there but it was so worth it. id do it again in an instant. only thing that suked was that i wasnt able to meet all the bands cuz of the schedule. n it was frkn hot! i was so sunburned by the next day!

LIKE LAST YEAR, MAYHEM WAS INCREDIBLE!! THE BANDS WERE AMAZING, MOST OF ALL CANNIBAL CORPSE, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, & SLAYER. THE SPONSER BOOTHES WERE ALL GREAT, MANY GAVE YOU A CHANCE TO MEET THE BANDS. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE SAME AS LAST YEAR. THE MAIN STAGE STARTS WHILE THE 2ND & 3RD STAGES ARE STILL PLAYING SO I MISSED MUSHROOMHEAD AND BEHEMOTH. THEY SHOULD START EARLIER, OR EVEN DROP 1 OR 2 BANDS SO YOU CAN SEE THE WHOLE SHOW. GREAT SHOW, WISH I SEEN IT ALL.

I think the way the 2 smaller stages rotated was different. I got Trivium signatures and a photo with band member. I met some cool people also attending the show. One trio was from Iowa to see marilyn manson!

This was a amazing show.Will go again next year.I had pit tix with a green room vip pass.Went to the after party with all the second stage bands and hung out.Got to meet dime bags widow rita.Awesome event every metal heas should go to mayhem festival.Slayer kicked ass,Musheroomhead was great I like ther water drums,and manson was wickedly evil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall it was a great selection of bands. Trivium, All That Remains, White Chapel, Godforbid tore it up. Bullet for my Valentine was legit and Killswitch Engage was badass.
I don't even need to say anything about Slayer or Marylin Manson you know they did their thangs.

I had so much fun i will for sure go next year if there is one! i saw The Black Dahlia Murder finally after missing idk how many opportunities and then every other band i had seen before but it didnt matter. I had to travel to San Antonio cause they didnt come near my city but Marilyn Manson is my favorite and i wasnt gonna miss a chance to see him! The Black Dahlia Murder, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Trivium, and lots of other amazing artists making it the sweetest line up ever! I loved MAYHEM!!

There was nothing wrong with the bands that actually played except for the sounds. I can hear the bass, guitar, and drums, but what about the singer. It was like this in EVERY event and is very upsetting because I did not just go to hear them play, I went to hear the voice of the band. If I can't hear that, then I might as well just listen to classical instead.
The other problem was the seating. Not only did my friend and I have to what seemed like fight for our seats, but so did the people in front of us and the ones next to them, and the row in front of my friend. Maybe the seats should marked more clearly.

This event was more than I expect it to be. Live Bands from 2PM through 12:30 AM with some of my favorite bands, Slayer, Manson, Kill Switch, BFMV, just wish Mushroom Head would have been there. But none the less one of my lifes best experience. If you love Metal, don't miss this event.

The show was awesome. It was outside with two stages for nonstop metal. The best part was that the headlining bands were inside the AT&T center so if you had seats you got to sit back and enjoy the show or be in the pit. The best part was that CAMERAS were allowed so you could take pictures of you favorites bands and with your favorite bands as they autographed your memorabilia! All venues should allow CAMERAS, people pay alot of money to see shows and being able to capture your favorite band in a picture is priceless.

All the bands were great but, Bullet for my Valentine stood out amongst them all. I expected alot more from Marilyn Manson and it seemed at times he had forgotten the words to his own songs. Trivium rocked the Jager stage!!

WAS IT HOT OUTSIDE? HELL YA! BUT THE SHOWS WERE AWESOME AND WHO CARED HOW HOT IT WAS. KillSwitch was by far the best performer of the night followed by Slayer. I am so glad I was able to enjoy Mayhem Festival. It was awesome that the bands signed autographs too. This is my first concert in this manner, but I will definetly try out other festivals like this one...OzzFest, Warp Tour, ect....
