By the time I came in, John Legend was already performing. His musicians were great, he sounded good as always, and chose a great selection of songs to perform. Then came intermission. Broke things down, cleared the stage, and the dj played some music for the arena. Time went on, some people started getting a bit anxious. Bob Marley was played, the arena began to sing along, then all of a sudden, BAM! The lights went out. Huge reaction from the crowd. There was movement on stage, then after a few seconds, Soldier of Love started to play. The stage lit up in red lights, dim, but enough to see clearly. Then, from a stairway in the middle of the stage, up she came. Sade. The arena was deafening. She started to sing and the feeling I had is indescribable. She was beautiful. Her band was incredible. Hearing them on a cd is great. But Sade and her band live, that is an experience of a lifetime. She thanked the crown several times during the show. They performed a number of her hits. The music was excellent, the stage effects were awesome. And then, after she performed her last song, lights out. The crowd began to chant. SADE! SADE! SADE! That went out for maybe 30 seconds. A flurry of movement on a dark stage, and out they came to perform Cherish The Day for an encore. Of all her songs, that is my favorite. For her to save that for last just took me to the moon. Thank you Sade. Thanks to your awesome band. May God continue to bless you and I will forever cherish the day I saw Sade in concert.
