Unfortunately, we did not get to see much of the show. It was rained out. I believed it would have been an excellent show if not for the rain. I hope that we will be able to see the show next year under different circumstances.

I too was disappointed that the Ohio Players' concert was a rainout. I traveled from Richmond (2 hours). Approaching the park; I cloud see the dark clouds. The moment I parked, it began to storm. I did not even get out of my car. I pulled away in disbelief, stopped for dinner and went home. I took a chance and would gladly do it again! I saw the Ohio Players about 5 years ago. It was the best concert ever! The music took me back 20 year and put me on a natural high that has lingered for years (I was totally sober). To feel that way again is worth the money, time and travel. I hope to see them before the end of the summer; somewhere?

I never got to see the Ohio Player because it storm that evening. James Brown Revenue performed and S.O.S. Band did 1 and 1/2 songs and that was it. I hate that I did not get to see them peform. It would be nice if we could get dvd or cd something since it was rained out.

IT WAS JUST THE LUCK OF THE DRAW FOR SATURDAY NIGHT....
THE CLOUDS STARTED CIRCLING AND THED DOWN CAME THE RAIN ABOUT 7:20 RIGHT BEFORE THE OPENING ACT. IT STOPPED EVERYONE WAS BACK IN THERE SEATS TO FINISH THE OPENING ACT AND READY FOR THE SOS BAND. BEFORE THE FIRST SONG WAS SUNG THE SKY OPENED UP AGAIN AND THE SHOW DIDN'T START BACK UP UNTIL 10:10 WITH THE OHIO PLAYERS (NEVER SAW SOS BAND AGAIN THAT NIGHT). WHICH THEY HAD TO RUSH THRU THEIR SET BECAUSE THEY HAD TO BE FINISHED BY 11:00!

It would have been an awesome concert, unfortunate it rained and I didn't get a chance
to see the SOS Band and the Ohio Players time was cut short and they did not get
to sing a lot of their hits. I would really love to see these two groups again. I hope that they are booked to come back next summer.

The show was very good, however it was delayed and shortened due to rain. It would be advised to have the main attraction perform first when rain is predicted since that is the group people really paid to see/hear.

The opening act "Mousey" Thompson the James Experience was delayed due to the rain. Once the delay was over, the band such hits as "Say It Loud", "I feel Good" , "Payback" and other notable James Brown hits. The SOS band performed two songs and then there was another delay due the rain and thunderstorms after about 30 minutes the stage crew pulled the wires form the equipment and therefore the show ended. I was unable to see the Ohio Players. I hope they reschedule or refund the tickets.

The concert was rained out, but you had some die hard fans who chose to wait out the rain. The SOS band was cut short due to lightening and rain. The Ohio Players came on and couldn't give us a complete concert because they were told to cut it short. There was a delay in presenting them due to the rain.

However, they are still well liked.

The first band did a great rendition of James Brown. The SOS Band kept us out of our seats, dancing. Then the rain started along with lightening & thunder. There went the show! We never got to see the Ohio Players come on stage.

I thought the show went over pretty well even with the inclement weather.
I was a little disappointed that the S.O.S. band only got to perform two
songs. This is understandable, as I know through the years of seeing
many artists perform, bad weather is not a good thing.

The show started of as if we were in for an enjoyable evening until the rain started pouring just as the S.O.S. band started to perform. The event came to a stop until shortly before the park was to close. The Ohio Players wrapped up the evening with a few good songs and it was time to go.

From growing up in Southeast going to Dupont Park, Carter Barron in the early 80's this was the worst concert. The James Brown Revue was excellent and then it will down hill from there. Yes, it was raining and the concert started a little late(that was ok) The concert was stopped for a brief delay and then SOS band performed to songs that were great and the concert stopped.(They said for lighting, I understood this) After,it stopped lighting the concert should have went on. No One came out to say anything, everyone just set in the rain. This was a huge let down to the loyal fans. Someone should have let the fans know what was going on. The ticket stated RAIN OR SHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We never got to see the Ohio Players. We also only got two songs from the SOS Band. The James Brown review was okay but since there was an issue regarding the weather they should have only performed two or three songs and let the main acts perform.

Although the event didi not go as I expected, the park really does need to invest in a roof top as the subway did. It would be nice to enjoy a show without getting wet unless it was a wet T- shirt contest! hahahahah!!!!!!!!

My husband and I had brought our tickets 2 months in advance. Therefore, we had anticipated on seeing a fantastic show. We drove from Maryland to see the show, we did not get to enjoy all of the show because the show rained out. In addition, it was also thunderstorming. My husband and I was very disappointed after driving 2 hours to get to the show. We will not be attending any events @ Carter Barron Amphitheatre.

I was disappointed because of the weather. The SOS band only sung 2 songs before the weather changed and it began to storm. I left because the rain didnt seem to let up. I later found out that the show resumed later. sorry I missed it. I enjoyed everything before the storm.
