Some Persons are Still Missing

Favorite moment: Dale actually knelt down at the edge of the stage to shake hands and sign autographs for a few while some of the musicians played solos. @

Setlist: Mostly songs from Spring Session M; plus "Action Reaction", "Give", and "Face to Face". @

Opening act(s): Three local groups: Hocus, Vacscene, A Dull Science... none were my cup of tea @

Technically, the show should have been billed as "Dale Bozzio with a Missing Persons Cover Band" since Dale was the only original band member to perform (The last time I saw MP in concert, there were three original members on stage). This is not to detract from the band however. I'm a die hard MP fan, so I naturally enjoyed this show. Highlights: hearing any MP music performed live is a blast from the past; the hired band covered well and was a talented assortment musicians. Lowlights: Dale doesn't hit the "squeals" as high or as consistently as she did in her more formative years. She also seemed stand-offish (to use an MP term), standing most of the time away from the front of the stage and outside the spotlights. The venue, 4th and B, was a decent joint to see a small show such as this. The sound was fair to good. Drinks were medium to pricey. And the overall feel was divey, industrial. There were about 300 heads in the audience, whereas the club can accomodate up to 1200.

Sounded fresh, missed the tall high heels and nylons.opened with mental hopscotcth,
which I was hoping they would of saved it for near the end. one of my favorites.
My wife , 22 yr old son who is a drummer and guitarist and I sat at a higher table and had a great view. others were not as fortunate.
We all enjoyed the kids "slatr" and "thorn" who played prior to missing persons.
That was a bonus!
The canyon club sometimes get a bad rap, because someone shows up late and
couldn't see the stage because they were only 5'2".
For what the entertainers charge, don't be cheap and reserve a table for the dinner
and you can really enjoy the show instead of rubbing shoulders with some strangers

Pretty solid show considering that the band was at its height in the early 80s. Aside from Dale being a little disengaged from the audience and having a baseball cap on backwards, she still sounds as good as ever.
