Being a professional philosopher and having written a chapter for 'Metallica and Philosophy: A Crash Course in Brain Surgery' I'm always ready to ROCK, but also ready to have my mind BLOWN! Metallica live never disappoints by not only bringing the heaviest sound my ears, but also having a set list that highlights the profound themes they've explored lyrically over the last 26+ years -- from 'One's meditation on phenomenological solipsism and euthanasia to 'Master of Puppets's Manichean picture of a bifurcated will to 'Cyanide's expression of existential nihilism.

Metallica kicked our asses for two plus hours!!!! I left there totally exhausted and loved it!! When you go to a Metallica show you feel like a part of something much bigger. It's like a family reunion. Everyone feels at home. It's all about love..........you feel it in the way they kick your ass.....hopefully they feel it in the smiles on our faces. I know it may sound a bit contradictory, but you leave their shows more than satisfied, yet still wanting more.......THANK YOU Metallica!!!!!!!! Please get back here soon!!!

Beyond words...!!! It's definitely something you just have to experience...
I was there both nights and both nights were just incredible..and their set lists were very different between the 1st and 2nd night.

This was my first Metallica concert. They were incredible and put on a fantastic show! The lasers, the pyrotechnics (if thats how you'd describe it), the everything was simply amazing. I highly recommend going to one of their shows. Its well worth the money and you won't regret it. =]

madison square garden is just the best place to see a live concert at because it really has amazing sound not to mention metallica is one of best all time heavy metal groups around plus they brought lamb of god and the volbeats to warm us up truly amazing show well worth it

After this concert, it will be 7 times I've seen Metallica from 1987 until now. I first became hooked on them seeing them live opening up for other bands and I still love hearing all their old stuff live and loud. I've seen them 3x this tour BUT at MSG was the best yet! They were psyched and fed off the crowd. My only little complaint is after seeing them in NJ earlier this year and buying the live cd of the show I was at, I would've liked to hear a different arrangement of their music (in NYC & Albany). I pretty much knew what song they were going to open and close with and do next, etc. Again, that is a small complaint. I wasn't crazy about Lamb of God, I think they took Metallica's inspiration a little too far to the likes of Pantera. Not my style, but Volbeat was very entertaining and would see them again.

The show started a little slow with some of the new tunes and laser light show that was a little out of the ordinary. The vocals echoed a little as well, but half way through it was like every other Metallica show I've ever seen...Hardcore in your face metal baby! Security was tight and prevented me from jumping down onto the floor but it was a blast and great to see these guys still kicking ass live. The encore with the house lights on was my favorite part, looking at tens of thousands of my fellow fans screaming our throats out for the best band in the world. I can't wait to do it again!

This was my 5th Metallica show and they continue to amaze me. We had gone to see them in January and that show was awesome but this show was even better. They played a handful of songs that I've never seen them play live: Shortest Straw, Trapped Under Ice and Dyers Eve, they also played My Apocalypse which I think is one of the best songs on the new album. Great great great show! Definitely going to see them the next time they come around.

New York is a die hard fan base when it comes to anything especially music. Metallica rocked out and the crowd was with them every step of the way. I enjoyed every minute of it, and would recommend anybody that has never seen or has doubt, that this band can put on a great show after 20 yrs. See it for yourself

Honest, hard-working, giving their all, never settling for less, promising a good time and then delivering. My first time seeing them and I was extremely impressed. Sorry it took so long for MSG to bring 'em back. Well worth money.

I think it is amazing these guys are still able to put out awesome music and an even better stage show. Incredible performance... incredible set list. Amazing stage presence as well. James sounds better nowadays and the new bassist is great.

This was my third time seeing Metallica, but the first time seeing them inside an arena. You definitely get your money's worth when you go see Metallica, but there were definitely times when it was hard to hear James singing. We had lower level seats, but it would have been nice if they would have had the screens on.
