First time I have ever seen Accept, but I've been a fan since the Restless & Wild album was released in the early 80's. They had tons of energy, the sound was great, and Wolf Hoffman is a tremendous guitarist. He and Herman Frank shared twin leads several times in traditional metal fashion. The addition of Mark Tornillo on vocals is perfect. The 2 albums they have released with him are excellent, so I knew what the newer songs would sound like. I didn't know what to expect for the UDO-era songs. Tornillo did not disappoint. He sounded perfect on the older material and did a great job of getting the crowd to join him on various songs. They played all of the hits from Fast As A Shark, Balls to the Wall, Metal Heart, to the newer songs including Hung Drawn & Quartered, Teutonic Terror, Pandemic, and Stalingrad. Peter Baltes was great on bass and Steven Schwarzmann on drums was incredible. Don't miss this opportunity to see one of the all-time great metal bands.
Surprisingly, Accept went on before Kreator. I assumed Accept was the bigger of the two and would be the headliner, but that wasn't the case this time. I had not heard Kreator before and unfortunately did not enjoy them. They are thrash metal, which is completely different from Accept's style of straight-ahead heavy metal. I don' t like the style of singing that goes with thrash metal (death growls, etc.). However, most of the crowd seemed to enjoy them, so if you like that style of metal then you should enjoy their show.
