Great show. In my opinion, KISS is about 50%-50% music and showmanship. There are many other bands that I prefer musically, but only a few can put on a show like KISS. They pulled out all the stops at the Key: lights, fire, theatrics, and really did a great job getting the audience engaged. Close to two hours. Highly recommend.

Also have to say that Buckcherry rocked. I only knew a song or two, but they did a great job on everything they played. Singer has a good voice and did a nice job commanding the stage. Incredible version of Highway Star! Looking forward to downloading a few more songs and seeing them again in the Seattle area.

WOW where do I start!!! 1st if you haven't seen this show you HAVE to see it!!! I couldn't wait to go and when you get there the anticipation waiting for Kiss to come on stage was unreal....then the curtain comes down and the loudest sonic boom goes off (that you feel it )and then there they are...the lights... the music ....the explosions .....BREATHTAKING!!!

Both bands were at their best! From Tommy's drum solo to Mick, Nikki and Vince rocking out, I could not have witnessed a better 'opening act', and I use the term loosely because this band is no opening act! One band needed to go first and I'm glad it was the Crüe! They really were fantastic and I would love to see them again.

As far as KISS goes, it's a typical kick a$$ show! Fire, smoke and loud music, no one does it better! It's hard to believe that Gene and Paul are in their 60's! Great job and you keep the crowd wanting more. Both Tommy and Eric were on point and really bring a lot of energy to the band! I'm looking forward to the new album!

I hate to say this being a diehard Kiss fan, but they really fell short this past show.... I felt like they came out and played 8 songs and I think it got cut short due to heavy rain... Motley Crue, however, stole the show!!!

You definitely get what you pay for with both bands. Motley Crue was entertaining, and played all the songs that people wanted to hear. KISS is always FANTASIC. They always give their all to the crowd, and they never disappoint.

Favorite moment: KISS' curtain went down on its own because it was too windy but, KISS came to the stage & got on the platform anyway. Perfect showmanship. @

Setlist: Alot of KISS classics, you know them & you love them. Black Diamond, Detroit Rock City, Love Gun, God of Thunder, not a fan of Shock Me, I'd prefer Rocket Ride or When Lightning Strikes. Love a blues cover of Shock Me but as a rock song it just kind of sits there not doing anything. @

Opening act(s): Motley Crue not worth it unfortunately. Cute Girls on stage though & could have done without being sprayed with ice cold water by Crue. Its one thing on a hot summer night but it was cold outside & spraying cold water, not cool at all. KISS blew Crue away. @

I have been a KISS ARMY member since the 'original 70's line up. Don't care for Unmasked (although I like the Album cover), or Crazy Nights, but otherwise I like songs from each album.
I have seen shows with Eric Carr & Bruce Kulick, Ace & Peter, Peter & Tommy, and Eric Singer & Tommy. Loved the tours Eric Carr & Bruce. Ace & Peter were fun in a nostalgic sense but, their playing live never came close to either Carr & Bruce, Singer & Bruce or Tommy & Singer, Ace & Peter made way too many mistakes live & didn't have the passion on the Reunion, Psycho Circus or Farewell Tours.
The fact is that Tommy & Eric Singer make this line up, the Klassic KISS line with the ability to play from any era of the band and dress the iconic part.
Tommy & Eric are iconic now in that they can perform live with the visual medium of "Klassic KiSS Shows" with unparalleled musicality playing each song great. They will become KISS IKonic as their studio releases with Paul & Gene stands the test of time. I have to disagree with Paul about the songs KISS writes now as opposed to the 70's stuff.
The music you write today is becoming the soundtrack to people's lives. Kids & Teenagers are going through the same hormonal experiences that us kids & teens went through in the 70's. Parents & Grandparents are having special moments now with their friends, family & kids when the new albums come out & at the shows that are becoming the soundtrack to their lives. Psycho Circus is one of the best songs you ever wrote & is part of the soundtrack to my life. I remember where I was when I first heard it on the radio. For me it stands toe to toe with anything from the 70's and ties with Detroit Rock City as the best KISS song ever because it does in 5 minutes what no KISS song has ever done before - It perfectly wraps up the concept of what the Live Spectacle of a KISS Show is all about in the 5 minute space of a single song!
The studio & live version from KISS Symphony are the most played song on my Ipod. I remember my girlfriend at the time, I remember we just got back from Wild Wood Beach in N.J. - the first time I ever went to the Ocean with a woman I was dating. It is a gem of a song & an everlasting part to the soundtrack of my life.
Whenever I need energy, that song puts me in the right frame of mind. Always.
Love Black Diamond, love Come On & Love Me and I LOVE Psycho Circus & Paul hopefully you'll read this review, I know you love that song too.
Just because you had a bad experience making that album because Ace & Peter weren't there like they were supposed to be -they couldn't have done justice to the song anyway, It doesn't mean that song isn't great for another generation of fans...Fans that may have become fans of KISS because of that song, album & tour. I'm a fan from the 70's & I love that song Psycho Circus for the reasons above.
Psycho Circus, part of the soundtrack of my life Paul. Food for thought.
KISS gives the fans what they want at show: Showmanship, Spectacle, Great Rock N' Roll.
KISS was fun at Jones Beach even in the rain. Show was worth it because of KISS.
Motley Crue, not so much. Crue doesn't play anywhere near as well live as they have on the albums.

The Crue and Kiss show must be one of the biggest shows on Earth. The music was great, every song a singalong and the stage show was huge. Obviously everyone's lost a small step but being a long time fan I totally appreciated the effort! Rock On

I cant help but compare this show,9/22/12 at Nikon theater, Jones beach NY to the show I saw 2 years ago at the same venue...That show ROCKED at 100%.From the stage production,to the intro,classic rock tribute and slide show,the solos,the energy,the salute to the troops and the wounded warriors tribute,to the finale and fire works show...100% AWESOME and KICK ASS! The show I just saw,not so much...Low energy,super low stage production,short set,it was raining and even though Paul stated "we're not gonna let a little rain stop us"...the show was over pretty soon after that.The solo sections we at a bare minimum..Tommy and Eric were the best part of the show,while Gene was ok,but Paul seemed low energy and just not into it. Motley Crue on the otherhand,put on a great show,with a stage production that was like a freaken circus with hot back up singers,stilt walkers,acrobats,fire,and Tommy Lee's rotating upside down drum solo..I'll always be down for a KISS concert, But at $100 a ticket( there were 7 of us) I really expected more,not even sure they played an hr.We had fun,but none the less were disappointed...time to lower ticket prices... we bought our tickets 5 months in advance,rented a van and drove over 3 hrs to get there...so we expected more than we got...

Amazing performance by both bands. The guys are getting better and better as they get older, it's unbelievable! KISS was better than Motley Crue (Crue's idea of squishing water at the audience was quite unwelcome).

Motley Crue (I'm a fan, seen them several times since the SATD tour) were HORRIBLE. Terrible sound. VN sounding worse than ever. Kiss were fun. Professional, great sound (you can be loud WITHOUT being so distorted that you can't tell what sound is being played Mr Motley) & even made us forget about the rain for the last 4 songs.I took my kids who at 7 & 11 noticed that Vince Neil can't sing!

Being it was the last show of the tour I thought Kisss could have done more. I was very disappointed by Kiss and their performance. This was the first time seeing them and I will never pay money to see them again, They were not good. Motley Crue was awesome though. They were worth the money.

Overall it was a great show. Motley Crue was awesome. The effects were over the top. It was a VERY windy night so the sound was not the greatest. Tommy's drum solo was good but a little too long. I liked the song selections from both KISS and Motley Crue. Amazing, no Strutter or Deuce and I did not care! The show ended right on time at 10:58pm, as shows have to end by 11pm at Jones Beach because of a noise ordinance. Both bands are still going strong. Paul and Vince do not have the voices they used to, but they sure do try hard. If someone went and said they did not get their money's worth, they are lost. The place was SOLD OUT and jammed and scalpers looking for tickets were turned away. No one was selling at all. I have seen KISS about 30 times and this was one of the best shows. I have seen Motley Crue about 5 times and this was their best show. Would highly recommend for a great night of fun and hard rock and roll! Keep rocking guys! See them before you cannot anymore. They are not getting any younger!!!

PS - Jones Beach is awesome but really starting to show it's age. It is getting a little run down and dirty. Graffiti in some places, the bathrooms were kind of gross and hand dryers not working. The big screens are out of focus and need to be replaced/upgraded!
