After 35 years, this incredible group continues to redefines and up the ante on eveyone else in the industry. Simply putting it, Steve Walsh continues to drive with emotion in an amazing voice that is dead on PERFECT. No one - no one - absolutely no one in the industry today comes CLOSE at singing the way he does, with such passion and drive and complexity. The group is stunning. The sounds was wonderful. The University of Texas of San Antonio gave a great performance, only to be enhanced, by the KANSAS group. This is a FULL sound KANSAS - just when you thought they could not get better, KANSAS DELIVERS ! Again and again and again. It is truly amazing to me, as someone who has followed them since them middle 70s that these guys have surmounted all difficulties and challenges. And despite today's simple sound of bands that learn 5 chords and THINK they are musicians and parade themselves and sell millions of CDs, Kansas is a group of true musicians that have taken the time to arrange and score their songs in a hair raising fashion. I can only say that KANSAS remains the best rock group in the world today - with no one even CLOSE to their level of complexity, sound, keyboards, vocals, or an ensemble that is arranged to PERFECTION. Bravo KANSAS for putting on a sound that we love. I so wanted to stand in the line to buy something as I wanted it signed by the band members but the line was SO long and I had an early flight the second day - but I wanted to tell Steve Walsh: THANK YOU - your music has changed my life.!

Kansas showed why they are unparalleled when it comes down to the music. Great show, they played some of their oldest songs (Can I Tell You; Journey from Mariabronn) and weaved excerpts of other songs into each other, like Kansas is known for. Steve's voice sounded fantastic and he gave it his all. The crowd in Tacoma was surprisingly enthusiastic, almost as good as some of the East Coast shows that I have attended. I can't wait to see them again in August at the Fan Appreciation Show back in the 'Burgh.

Very nice value for the price. It's a small venue and the chairs are tiny and packed closely, but the sound is still good and you're not too far to see well (provided you don't have someone really tall in front of you).

For 35 years I've been jinxed when Kansas was in my area - had to work, out of town that night, etc. But I finally got to see them live, and they did not disappoint. It's hard to believe that Kansas can still 'bring it' with both accuracy and authority after 40 years. But they can, and they did.

I thought opening with "Paradox" took real guts, but it was stellar! The set was only 90 minutes (due to casino rules?), but after such a blistering set, I was more than satisfied. My hat's off to Steve Walsh for still being able to belt out the lyrics in his unique way! I loved that they played the classic stuff: "Let Me Tell You", Journey From Mariabronn", and "Song For America". Many didn't recognize the tunes from the first album and left to get drinks, only to run back when they heard the band absolutely smoke!

My seats were even with the mixing board, so the sound was primo. I even went back to the sound guys after the show to compliment them - they smiled, knowing it was true.

I realize Kansas, after playing stadiums in the 70s, is probably disappointed to be relegated to playing casinos and the corn dog circuit. That said, they could do a better job hiding how bored they are. Sitting center stage in the 2nd row, we had a good view of what was going on. Dave and Billy were fine, and I couldn't see Phil behind his drum kit. Steve looked absolutely bored out of his mind, and Rich for most of the night wasn't much better. We did the the meet and greet with them as well, and they weren't much better there either (in fact, we have Phil staring up and out at the ceiling during our photo). There was no backdrop or any prop on the stage; they clearly traveled here on the cheap. To cap off the experience, not only were there no tour shirts, but they ran out of what shirts they did bring! As for the music, it was ok (and they get props for their shout out to the military during Fight Fire With Fire) though Carry On Wayward Son was quite uninspired.

Kansas was very good, especially the acoustic segments.

But the EQC sound system leaves very much to be desired. Both my partner and I decided (this being our 2nd show there) that we wouldn't be attending again.

It was great to see Kansas live and the crowd loved the show. The audio clarity in the Emerald Queen Casino I-5 showroom wasn't the best. I don't know if I would try another concert at this venue. Kansas though was in top form.

I have been to 6 Kansas shows, and this one was the 2nd at the Emerald Queen. I loved the show, and Kansas is a great band, but the show was too short for not having an opening band. The ticket price really should reflect the length of the show. I paid around 75 dollar per ticket for 90 minutes. And the band left out many songs that have always been trade mark songs for them. I will still come again when they return. The guys are in their 60's, so if I wait, they might retire on me!

Very good show. Be careful when buying tickets for this venue. The seat chart on Ticketmaster is not the actual set-up in the venue. There are only sections A (left) B (center) and C (right) not A thru H as was shown. My seats ended up being on the side of the stage (sec A) not in front as was shown. Although I did look today and for the future shows it appears to have been corrected.

I went to see Kansas on Friday, and they were good, but the music was average. They played for about 75 minutes. Alot of the music is music that you would only have remembered if you grew up listening to it. I would recommend this band to others though.
