Elton John made his first trip to Baton Rouge in over 20 years and boy, was it worth the wait. He played for 2 1/2 hours straight, so everybody definitely got their money's worth. He wore a shiny purple jacket (I guess he knew he was in L.S.U. country) and of course, his signature red glasses. Elton opened with "The Bitch Is Back" and "Bennie & the Jets".
In no particular order, he also played "Philadelphia Freedom", "Candle in the Wind", "Daniel", "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues", "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" and my favorite of the set "Crocodile Rock" . He finished with "This Is Your Song". He didn't sing my three favorites, "Little Jeannie", "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and "Island Girl", but with all his hits, what can you expect. This was a simply fantastic show and I hope it's not another 20 years before he comes back. Highly recommended!
