Featured Review

The sound, lights, and venue were great. Mr. Isaak and the band were amazing that night and sounded wonderful. In the land of the Delta Blues it was a great evening and atmosphere to sit/stand/dance and most importantly "listen" to live music. Mr. Isaak and Silvertone are the perfect band to provide such an evening!

Out of curiosity I went to see Chris Isaak, remembering he had some singles I enjoyed more than a decade ago. I also remembered he was pretty handsome, and the show was at the House of Blues, so why not go on a night when nothing was happening?

Since the show, I downloaded his greatest hits AND his new CD from iTunes, and listened to it for weeks! His performance of his old hits showed that his voice has remained as true as ever, and his energy for performing belies his years completely.

It was possibly the best performance I watched all summer, and I went to a lot of great concerts, including a lot of band that have been around for 2 - 3 decades. I will always try to go see him for now on!!

Chris had fantastic rapport with the audience and his voice is as amazing as ever. His band is incredibly talented and can cover an enormous range of musical styles.

Out of the gate, straight into three songs, Chris rocked the house before starting his usual charming monologue. A smooth comedian, a very charming performer, at one point he invited three ladies in the crowd wearing pink T-shirts they had made with CI slogans on them up on stage to dance. He then improv-ed one of the girls talking to her mom telling her that she was leaving Edmonton to be a groupie on the CI tour bus, which led perfectly into the next song.
Not sure what was better, the music or the humour.
Chris did a great job on his classic "Wicked Game" and proved he hasn't lost any of his skills to hit the hight notes.
Great selection of his work performed last night even a cover of Cheap Trick's "I want you to want me"!
A great show, too bad you weren't there !!!

My wife & I invited my grandmother to come along with us because I knew she'd enjoy Chris' music, it's hard not to. We seeked out a local show for a project my wife had for school and both love Chris' music so we knew we'd all three have a good time.
He did not dissapoint for one moment, he played all the great hits we knew and loved and even a few we didn't including some from his newest album "Mr. Lucky". He even came out to the crowd, signing autographs, singing, and embracing his audience. The women of the crown went crazy! His outfits were great, he even came out for an encore in a disco ball suit covered in little mirrors. He played a few covers by Dean martin, Roy Orbison, Elvis, and even an unlikely James Brown cover and also, I want you to want me by Cheap Trick.
Needless to say we all had the best time, even though the seating situation wasn't top notch. If you see a show in the theatre at the Grand Sierra in Reno, make sure you're either in the first 8 rows or that you get a booth rather than a table. my seat faced 90 degrees away from the stage and I had to rubberneck for the whole show. The performance was so great I barely noticed, though.

I wasn't really a big fan of Chris Isaak until now. What an amazing entertainer! Chris had everyone up on their feet dancing and having a great time. Chris has a great rapport with his band members and they all play to the audience. It's obvious that Chris and his band enjoy what they do. I can't wait to see him again!

Amazing show, very funny guy and his music was spot on. I laughed, I sighed (a lot) and had a wonderful time. He even came out into the audience to sing a few songs. I got to see him sing "Love Me Tender" from 3 feet away.

Flat out the best concert I've seen (and I've seen a few!) Chris and his band made me feel like I was the only one in the room. They were there to do their thing and wow did they do it. Excellent musicians, amazing voices singing beautiful lyrics. Thank you "sparkling hillbilly"!

...to be loud. Chris Isaak is an amazing entertainer and it's plain to see the guys he's been playing with for 20+ years are a tight group of musicians. He sang a lot of his top songs and his voice is as sultry as ever. I think his band packed enough decibels for Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA (an outdooor venue). Luckily they got the bass down a bit, but Chris Isaak doesn't need to be loud to be good. Otherwise a great show and I would definitely see him in concert again.

I've seen Chris many times and he always puts on a great show. last night in Reno was no execption. Every show is differnet which keeps it interesting. One of the best shows for sure. I hope he never stops touring! Sooo cute and what a voice!!!

I have seen over a dozen Chris Isaak shows since the 80s and as usual Chris and the band entertained the full house crowd with excellent music, showmanship and humor. Chris made his way around the room during the beginning of the show and sang a couple of songs one of which was Love Me Tender in which he sang part of it sitting next to us! Of course he appeared in his mirror suit for his encore act and the acoustic part of the show was fabulous!

Out of all the concerts I have been to in the past couple of years it ranks among the top. The price was great for a front row seat, you could understand every word they said, I didn't leave feeling like I just lost more hearing, they were on key, his base player sung his song that won a grammy, he performed covers from James Brown, Roy Orbison, the music was slow, fast, and in between. I loved it.

This is my 3rd time seeing Chris, and he's always a blast! Unlike the Clapton show I saw recently at the Hollywood Bowl, Mr. Isaak acknowledges the crowd, interacts with us, hell, he even wanders into the crowd briefly. It's nice to know that a few artists are willing to give the people what they paid big bucks to hear:solid hits, a few new ones and a great show.Chris Isaak has my utmost respect!

Chris Isaak is always fantastic, have seen him several times now both indoors and out. We look forward to seeing him every year. Have never seen Brian Setzer before, will definitely see him again when he comes back to Ca. Ironstone is a great venue for concerts, great food, wine, atmosphere-even the lawn seats are good. Only problem with the venue is getting out. (They already know this)
