Paramount is a great place overall, i've never been there. Huntington Station, (LI) NY area pretty nice, sorta upscale suburbia. cabs are sorta high$. not like NYC. @ $19 for 2 people to go @ 8 miles.
Anyway, it was a great show with good sound and the venue has great sight lines (actually good viewing everywhere, i checked out a few areas). + good quality video monitors on each side of the stage and a few at the rear bar.
as for Ian, i don't think i've EVER seen him when he wasn't great. this was no exception. great show, sound, performance.
as far as the set list, i prob. can't list all the songs (and def. not their order). BUT…
the latest release was represented well…What For, Prez, Black Tears, Just the Way You Look, Ta Shunka Witco, and part of Life toward the end. Fatally Flawed was a highlight and ALL of them were done really well. "When I'm President" IS a great, solid record.
Ian only touched Rant once i believe, Wash Us Away (a great song but wish 1-2 more (yeah, i'm nit picking a lil). DRAG he did not touch any of Shrunken Heads! would've liked to hear perhaps Shrunken Heads, Soul of America, Fuss About Nothing…
Ian added in "It Ain't Easy when You Fall" and a rollicking Once Bitten, Twice Shy from the 1st solo the latter which conjures up memory of Mick Ronson and his blistering solo. also, did Goodnight, Michael Picasso. very moving as always.
others like, a great Just Another Night… Flowers are Not Enough (solid song but not me fav).
he did some Mott of course… All the Way from Memphis, Swan Song, Saturday Nite, Sweet Jane an ending encore of Dudes w/ Parker joining which was joyous.
one of highlights for me was getting to hear All American Alien Boy in concert for the 1st time. and he did it great!!
Mr. Ian Hunter is definitely one of the best songwriters ever. can be touching, cynical, topical, funny, etc. and with some of the best lyrics in 'rock'.
LONG LIVE IAN HUNTER!!… and his band…

Favorite moment: All American Alien Boy, Fatally Flawed, Goodnight, Michael Picasso, When I'm President, @
Setlist: see review above @
Opening act(s): Graham Parker & Rumour were real good. always wanted the chance to see him/them. Parker was very likable and in great voice/style. would've liked to hear Heat Treatment, but… highlight was "Nobody Hurts You" from 'Squeezing Out Sparks'. @
