John Hiatt is a fine wine. He is everything you hope that he will be if not more. His writing skills are obviously a gifted talent with a boat load of experience on top, his selection of artist with whom he plays could not be better, and his singing quality was simply over the top. His stage presence was that which is found only in those with the savvy bestowed by his long consistent career; he owned it. Days later we are look for tickets where it would be possible to see him again. See him if you can. Artist extraordinaire befits Mr. Hiatt

Good set list, very good musical quality and energy in the performance. Bass was overamplified, making it difficult to understand the lyrics, which are worth hearing in John Hiatt's songs. Intermission between John Egan and John Hiatt was a little longer than we would have liked. John Egan was a good opener.

John Hiatt always puts on a great show, but in such an intimate venue as the Bear's Den, it is always unbeatable. The sight lines and sound are always top notch, and the crowd was having a good time without being obnoxious. The set list was great as usual with a mix of fan favorites and newer tunes. Seeing John live is always a treat, but this show was even more memorable!

The seats are a little skimpy at the Bears Den, but there isn't a bad one for location. John was himself, full of energy, soul, sarcasm, and sentiment. I've been following him for years, and this was a really solid show. The guitarist (Doug Lancio?) was smokin'! Wow. Lots of deja vu moments too. A retrospective punctuated by recent stuff.

There's always a danger in doing what amounts to a greatest hits set, but John Hiatt has written so many great songs that he could do a second night and not repeat any of the songs from this set. Having seen him perform several times I think his use of his voice has been refined to the point he sounds better than he did 10 or 15 years ago. The Combo provided some nice flourishes on old favorites.

Certainly a treat to see John Hiatt with a band and they certainly were good! Hiatt sounded strong vocally and mixed the new material with the old. The only downside to the performance being it was just not long enough for me-but that's what you get when you go to a casino.(90 minutes and that's it)

The band was excellent, but the concert was too short. How about 2 hours next time, John? I would like to hear Ethylene, Buffalo River Home, Do you want my job, Georgia Ray, Tiki Bar, Walk on, She was good as she could be, etc, etc...

I am a huge John Hiatt fan, this was the third time I have seen him. I would have liked to heard more from Mystic Pinball, maybe more songs for for the encore, maybe a little meet and greet your fans, sign a few autographs.

I would go see him again.

I have been a John Hiatt fan since 1988 and have seen him several times. He never fails to amaze me with his fantastic songs and the way he delivers them. Whether he is backed by the Goners, the Nashville Queens, the Guilty Dogs or his current band - the Combo - he always has great musicians backing him. John played a mixture of old and new songs and interacted with the crowd perfectly. We waited outside after the show and (as always) he came out to sign autographs and talk with the fans. I highly recommend seeing John Hiatt if you get the chance.

This is my first concert at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and I was very impressed. The folks there (esp. Beverly) were very friendly and helpful.

We last saw John Hiatt when he was touring with Lyle Lovett. That was a mellow laid-back show, really focused on the voices and lyrics. This show was with "The Combo" that give it a lot of energy. It had a good mix of classic songs and new songs. John really seems to enjoy playing and it was a lot of fun to watch.

Having seen John Hiatt before, I pretty much knew what to expect and was really looking forward to the show. John & The Combo did not disappoint and, in fact, exceeded my already high expectations! Outstanding musicianship, great song selection, voice in perfect form, just the right amount of good humored banter and an enthusiastic responsive audience ... I couldn't have asked for more! To top it all off, The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, which I had never been to, was simply excellent! The sound, which I assume should be credited to both John's able sound guy and the room's acoustics, was as good as I've ever heard in any sized venue ... and I've seen a lot of shows in my time. Crystal clear, warm, powerful and the perfect volume, the quality of the sound significantly added to an already and completely enjoyable evening! I never intended to miss another local John Hiatt show ... and this concert only solidified that plan! Thanks John ... you guys were simply great!

John Hiatt was much more spontaneous than he was with Lyle Lovett at he St Aug Amphitheater a few months ago. His show was much more animated with a back up band that really played together. He's one of my favorite songwriters and performers. This was really quite a show. Why wasn't it a sellout?
