Featured Review

The concert was supberb. Although we love the Eagles, it was like a combination of the best of the Eagles and the best of Henley in one show. It was great to see him in his glory. We love the way he does not change the presentation of the music when performing live. We want to hear the music the way we remember it from the original recordings. This is what memories are made from. We ould rate this concert on a scale of 1-10 as a 12. Our only dissapointment is that Henley does not perform our favorite song "Best of my love" anymore. We just attended the Eagles concert less than 3 months before and it was still great to see Don out on his own.

Setlist: The show started with One Of These Nights, the Eagles classic, followed by one of my favorite solo songs, Everything is Different Now. All other expected songs were included along with a couple of surprises, Precious Days? a 1938 oldie redone... and a few other surprise cover versions including Everybody Wants To Rule The World (Tears for Fears) @

Opening act(s): somebody and the strait jackets... a little too low-key I think which left the warming up of the crowd to Mr. Henley @

The crowd was small and mostly baby boomers. At 42, I was on the young side. Then again, Henley is 62 now so, the age demographic is no surprise... When I say small, it was shockingly small.... perhaps 3500 tops, but that didn't stop Henley from giving his all and it certainly didn't stop the crowd from showing an animated appreciation. Maybe the recession has dampened people's concert budgets, because Don is always a pleasure to see for anyone who can afford it. Don's voice faltered here and there in the early parts of the show attributed to seasonal maladies, but unlike other singers who generally go downhill after a few voice cracks, Mr. Henley just got better and better. Near the end of the set, those high-noted Boys of Summer choruses were all hit with classic Don Henley ease. He passed on the Reggae version of Hotel California as has been popular in recent tours and instead delivered a perfect rendition matching the studio classic we all know and love. The musicianship was unparalleled with both guitarists deliving spot-on performances of all the classic solos. The fretless bass work was astounding... Great piano and keyboards... to beautiful and talented backup singers... and a grooving drummer completed the act. Two encores... It was great.

Henley sounded amazing ! The band was tight and matched the Eagles stuff note for note. The sound in the showroom was like listening to a CD with highend head phones on. Did some old stuff and some covers.

Don Henley put on an awesome show. I love the way he writes, what a mind! The music was very true to recordings. Even the stage setting and lighting were perfect. Don Henley apologized because he said his voice was hoarse, but the raspy bluesy quality he is famous for came through loud and clear. Even his stories between songs were entertaining. I am so happy to see this very talented man still performing. Both my husband & I would go again, it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Nice mix of songs, I loved his arrangement of "I Put a Spell on You."

Don Henley and his band were awesome. The beginning was some of his newer stuff with mostly Don singing with either a piano or acoustic guitar as his only backgroud music. It was like watching a Top lounge act perform from another era. Different but nice and mellow. After that set he went on to perform all the old popular stuff and rocked the house. The encore was a solid 4 songs including the Eagles hits Hotel California and Desperado. I will never tire of this guys music with the Eagles or his own band. Strong recommendation to get out and see his fall tour.

The show was fabulous. I loved the mix of his old Eagles tracks and some new solo tracks too. He is such a great storyteller too. It is great when he shared the anecdotes about where he was and what he was doing when specific songs were written. I wish Don would have introduced his band. They were great too!

My fiancee and I had the opportunity to travel to Atlantic City to see Don Henley in concert at Caeser's and we both came away agreeing that it was one of the best concerts we have seen in quite some time. The man was amazing! From beginning to end, he was both entertaining as well as incredible vocally. I would recommend him to anyone that is an old Eagles fan like myself.

Opening act(s): The opening act was terrible. This was the only draw-back to the whole concert. The whole audience seemed to be groaning. His songs were sad, long and out of key. Not what I expected for an opener for such a great performer. @

Although Don Henley is not one of my favorites, he is one of my wife's favorites. Good concert in better than usual surroundings. Plush seats and cup holders. Not the usual Reading or Wachovia Center fare. However audience was more on the disruptive side than the other venues. Possibly because free drinks were available with certain casino rewards cards.

Speaking of drinks, there were 5 or 6 lines for drinks back at the bar and at least 15 people in each line when I went back. Took 20 minutes to get drinks so missed almost all of the opening act. Never did catch their name.

Had a good group with very competent musicians. Classy act (suit and tie) not like most groups I see. Good strong voice and acoustics were excellent. Not too loud. Just right.

Sorry, can't comment on the music itself, because I'm not that familiar with his songlist. The ones I did recognize were excellent though.

Show was fabulous! Don's voice was right on! Security was a bit ridiculous but other than that great show! Don sang cover songs as well as EAGLES songs! Very Robert Palmerish I thought loved the look!

Don Henley is an awesome artist so no doubt his concert was great. I liked his version of End of the Innocence as he sung the first verse as sort of a Ballad. I'll definitely see him again although my first love is his group The Eagles. I liked the smaller venue and the newly renovated Circus Maximus theater has great acoustic and it was quite comfortable.

I have been going to Eagles concerts since 1980 and have seen Don Many times. Our best show was in Dubli when we had tickets right in front. I eally love their music, but Don is definetley showing some wear and tear.

If you listen to the older albums his voice was very clear. Now that he is in his sixties, I guess it can be expected.

Even though it was a very busy day, by attending an afternoon wedding, we drove down to AC to see Don Henley. I am so glad we made this show!!!! Not one song you couldn't sing along with him. He talked to the crowd and had us laughing, but if you ever get a chance go see Don Henley!

Although the warm-up band was both unexpected and totally forgetable, Don Henley made up for any disappointment with his wonderful display of stage presence and talent. He covered every conceivable combination of songs from the past, I'm sure conjuring up memories from the entire audience. His band was fantastic, especially the guitarists and light show energizing. He's always been a favorite but hearing him sing "Boys of Summer" (which I listen to with my 16-yr. old daughter who also loves him) will be a moment I'll never forget.

The concert was great. Don Henley put on an awesome show!!! I enjoyed every song he played. Both his and the Eagles songs he played rocked the house. Classic. I could have listened to him all night. We had seats in the back of the theater but the theater is such a nice size that every seat was good (though I would have preferred front row). I saw him with the rest of the Eagles in Philadelphia last November. Hope he (and the Eagles) keep on playing. Can't wait to see him play again.
