I have always wanted to see Gabriel and thought that I might have missed his best. I was pleasantly surprised that this 60+ year old man kicked ass! He did three separate parts; solo, electric, and then, like Gabriel himself said; the dessert. He and Tony Levin began with some oldies and a piano & base only "Shock The Monkey"! Then an awesome concert spanning his solo career. All finished off by the album "So" in it's entirety by the original band that recorded it 26 years ago!

I was born around the time that "So" came out, and this was my first chance to see Peter Gabriel in concert. It was a dream come true for me. I love this artist so much. Just seeing the concert ticket in my hands when I picked it up at Will Call made me well up with tears. Needless to say, I had very high expectations for this concert. Not only did Peter and his band meet them, they exceeded them far beyond anything I ever thought possible. Peter is an incredible performer. He still has one of the finest voices in the history of rock. And of course, the fact that he had David Rhodes, David Sancious, Manu Katche and the incomparable Tony Levin made it that much more special. I cried multiple times throughout the show.

Of course, the venue contributed to the special night. Red Rocks is beautiful. It was just a little chilly, in a pleasant way, and it sprinkled a little bit. Red Rocks staff were apparently not very helpful when my mother needed to find a restroom, but that's was probably the only bad thing.

This concert was hands-down the greatest night of my life. We traveled from central Nebraska to see this event. I hope to see Peter Gabriel again in the future. I hope he comes to Red Rocks again because usually he doesn't tour very extensively in the US and his concerts are usually too far away for me to get to. I love you Peter!

Saw the show at the United Center in Chicago... it was a perfect venue, and perfect Chicago night. Gabriel came out with 3 sets: one acoustic, which he capped off with 'Family Snapshot,' one regular-style, playing many of his hits outside of 'So,' and then capped the show playing 'So' start-to-finish. I admit - I've wanted to see Gabriel practically my entire adult life, as he hasn't toured with his regular band in N America for 18 years! But even I was STUNNED that he can still sing and perform at a high level: he hit EVERY high note, even jumping up and down, spinning around, & stomping all over the stage! When he was stomping through Sledgehammer, I was standing there thinking, "this must have been what he did 25 years ago when the album debuted!" Simply incredible. Playing the entire 'So' album was certainly a treat: Gabriel said before this tour, he had never done it before. This show is a MUST for any Gabriel fan - and really for any fan of great music and performance!

What a showman! The concert was done in three parts. First an acoustic set, then an electric, and finally the album "So". The roadies were all dressed in same color scrubs. Five huge crane-like lights were manned by fifteen men dressed in black suits and hockey masks. These lights played a big part in the theatrics of the show. "Mercy Street" was performed with Peter laying flat on his back the whole time, with his bald head facing the audience. "The highlight of "Solsbury Hill" was the guys skipping around the stage in parade fashion. "Secret World" left me speechless in it's beauty and the excitement of the audience participation. This was a fantastic and memorable show.

The performance was outstanding. The vibes of the music was in sync with the vibe of the crowd. The sound was perfect, acoustics perfect. I finally got to bring my love as a gift to him and really, it was a true gift for me as well - I had a chance to experience something with him that he'd never forget, and I'd never forget. It brought out emotions in us both which made me feel closer to him. Even though there were people surrounding us, I felt like the concert was just for us & was only us there. For me, it was a magical time I'll always cherish. I'm beyond happy that I was able to give this all to him.

Like a live version of Disney's Fantasia, Peter Gabriel's cover versions of serious songs by other artists, and his own more ambitious compositions newly arranged for voice and orchestra, unfolded with magnificent, creative visual imagery effectively enhancing the music throughout. Mr. Metcalf's arrangements for orchestra were of the highest caliber, not at all like the usual Boston Pops or Muzak versions, but with respect for the pieces as if written by classical or opera composers. Peter Gabriel's singing ranged from quiet and subtle to loud and passionate, recalling for me Tony Bennett's technique of starting quietly and building to a big finish. The beauty of the orchestrations cannot be overstated. I thought, my late parents, whose youthful interests were classical music and the Rat Pack, not to mention spectacles like the World's Fair, would have enjoyed and appreciated Peter Gabriel's musical-visual-intellectual achievement in this performance at Radio City Music Hall, May 3, 2010. There was a preponderance of dramatic, serious and melancholy pieces, so the concert may disappoint those seeking cheerful dance music. There was no Sledgehammer, Shock the Monkey or Big Time. Perhaps this was the one drawback. It is like the Beatles performing Eleanor Rigby and Because but never performing She Loves You or I Feel Fine. Still, I had no problem with it.

Discovered Peter Gabriel in the 80's with his Shock The Monkey video. Became a hard core fan after watching The Secret World video and wanted to watch him perform in person ever since. Did not get that chance until 2012.

I found out Peter was touring but was not coming to the Seattle area. Knowing this may well be his last tour my wife and I decided to fly to San Diego and watch Peter in concert.
We were not disappointed in the least. The trip was well worth watching this consummate musician perform along with David Rhodes, Tony Levin, Manu Katche ,David Sancious and the wonderful Aennie Abrahamson and Linnea Olsson.

People asked me how the concert was. The only answer I could give them is, "It's Peter Gabriel". You can't put watching him perform into words. You just have to be there.

Would I do it again? Yup!
If you have the chance to see Peter Gabriel, go. It's well worth it.

Once again Peter did not disappoint. A beautiful evening at the Bowl. John Cusack coming out on stage before "in Your Eyes" was unexpected. Just a great all around show for the long time fan and for those that never got a chance to see him earlier in his career. I will go again whenever he make it back here.

I've never been to a concert before because I was never able to see Mr. Gabriel perform because he wasn't touring in my area or I wasn't able to attend for various reasons. I finally got the opportunity living in North Hollywood, I walked two blocks to the subway and took it one stop over and walked another two blocks and got on the Hollywood Bowl shuttle. Easy.

Peter Gabriel and his entourage of melody makers kicked it off with an acoustical section including a version of " Shock the Monkey" and it sounded fantastic!

The next section kicked into electronic life with a large dose of Digging in the Dirt and then took us to his Secret World. He played many favorites then finished with the entire So album it was a fantastic show, it looked and sounded great! I was towards the back but it's true that there's not a bad seat in the house. Great venue I look forward to my next visit!

Hard to believe Peter Gabriel had never played Red Rocks until Last Year! Is that true?!?! We made it to both Events and we'll never be the same. One of the Greatest artists of all time at arguably the greatest Venue on the planet. Gabriels masterful vision and mesmerizing stage presence kept the crowd fascinated for well over two hours. His songwriting & unique voice captivated, entertained and wowed the capacity crowd throughout the evening. His capable band from the SO album was present to make sure every note was there! Peter Gabriel's shows both made my top twenty list all time . . . Anywhere! Top Ten at Red Rocks. All the years he's been Rocking his huge fan base has not slowed him down or destroyed his range at all. Peter Gabriel has been added to our Don't Miss List. His performance at Red Rocks must join the list of EPIC SHOWS at Red Rocks in Colorado. Well Played Peter, Well Played!!!!

This small venue and simple, but effective, light show gave the music a chance to shine. Between having the original artists, and Gabriel's attachment to the songs, the show had an intensity that I did not get when I saw the Madison Square Garden "UP" show. Peter Gabriel is a true musician and performer. This show was awesome!

We've seen him 3 times since 1992. This was the best show. He played all his best music without the usual diversions into odd songs. His voice has become deeper and more rich through the years.

As someone who first saw PG in a small theatre for his first solo show and many times since, I hate the fact that this show bored me. While his voice is still strong and powerful, he seemed to lack the passion of past performances. Moreover, my wife, who has loved every PG show we have attended, commented that she was also unimpressed. Perhaps my personal history of seeing him in his prime, when his shows were second to none, have dampened my enthusiasm for his recent shows. I would recommend the show to those who have never seen him. However, for this fan of 40 years, I think I'll pass next time.

The music was great. Peter sang as well as ever. He danced a bit and pumped up the crowd pretty well for an old man! ; ). Tony Levin is a monster bass player and he put on a clinic, demonstrating different styles, techniques and instruments. He did everything from bowing an upright bass to slapping a stick bass and playing what looked like a sitar. He even sang back-up and danced like a fool. All of the musicians seemed to be having a great time and played with enthusiasm and energy.

My complaint is the lack of costumes or theatrical effects which Peter usually brings to his performances. There was only one set piece at the end of the show that involved a big prop. Also, the lighting and cameras for the video were very large and sometimes obstructed the view from the audience. There was a very large crew and a lot of expensive heavy equipment that contributed little to the show, but probably had a lot to do with the high ticket price. Next time I would recommend that Peter keep it simple or present something that looks good to the audience and not just the cameras.
