Favorite moment: Last song, "This Land is Your Land" with Tom Morello with the audience jumping up and down. @
Opening act(s): Tom Morello played an amazing set, even doing one Rage song. Later, he came out to do "Lungs" and "This Land is Your Land" with Steve Earle, what an experience! @
I have never seen Steve Earle before and have just become a fan over the past couple of years. The show focused on songs from "Townes", telling stories and sharing memories of his experiences with Townes Van Zandt. I noticed he often looked at what appeared to be lyrics on the floor, later in the show he admitted that there weren't too many songs he knew all the way through, I appreciated his honesty. His stories about his life and insights about different songs really made the show feel special. (The historic venue didn't hurt either!) He dedicated "City of Immigrants" to the Korean owner of the deli near his home in New York, who learned Spanish so he could talk with his workers; it felt like we were being chastised and called to action at the same time.
