Saw Bob Dylan for the 16th time at Chukchansi Park. The band really rocked tonight. Great rythym section. Most song selections were up-tempo and danceable. Bob spent most of the time behind the keyboards, but came out once or twice to play guitar. His voice was in fine form and he seemed to really be enjoying himself. Especially liked his phrasing during LARS. Did some things I've never heard before. All in all a wonderful evening...

Willie, John and Bob were all incredible. Although it was the first time I had seen the other guys, Bob has been, is and always will be my favorite singer/songwriter. His band is incredible, and his voice, articulating and reflecting the years and things he has survived, is still as strong as ever and hard as nails. His song choices spanned his career, from his second album to his most recent. The age of the audience ran the gamut from teens to old coots like myself but everyone seemed to really be in the zone in their own ways. Unlike the many other venues where I have seen him in the Atlanta area, there was very litte scent of herb in the air but lots of alcohol.
Like millions of others, I have been a total Dylan fan since I first heard him in the '60's and "got it", and I have never had a problem with the fact that he is constantly re-creating what he does and the myth of the public persona he presents to us. As another reviewer of the Alpharetta show has pointed out so well, as was ever thus, those seeking some nostalgia show where Bob will shuffle out and sing Blowin' in the Wind with guitar and harmonica ain't gonna happen --- although if it ever amuses him to do so, I'll be there. In reality, though, he still kicks ass like he did when Highway 61 Revisited first had needles dropped into its grooves and we all found ourselve suddenly awake and with no desire return to the stupor that our culture had wrought. If I can only see one artist live for the rest of my life, it will continue to be Bob.

This was my 47th Bob Dylan Show, and I was absolutely stunned and amazed at how great it was. I've learned to expect a great show from BD, but there was something about his energy on June 18, 2009 at Bethel Woods that put this show above most of those I have ever seen him perform. His voice was in excellent shape, and he appeared to be happier than I have ever before seen him on stage. He has been working with this particular line-up of bandmates for some time, and the group seems to have settled into a groove that bring out the best in his new material, as well as into new arrangements of time-tested works. Bob danced, posed, and punctuated rhythms with true showmanship and appeal.
The only thing I would warn people about is the venue. Leaving Bethel Woods is a lengthy process- there is only one lane exiting the driveway, and you have to sit in the driveway for a long time before you get to the single-lane egress. This is my second time to the venue, having seen BD there a couple of years ago, and they still haven't done anything to improve the traffic flow. I live nearby, but I won't go to Bethel Woods unless Dylan is there again, because a ten mile drive to Route 17 takes over an hour.

Willie opening was a real treat, yeah he is old, but can still get it. John Mellancamp was my reason for going and was awesome as usual! He still got the moves & that ass.. OMG! Dylan, well-- is Dylan. Started a little slow, ended with an amazing encore. He can still perform with that raspy unique voice. I am glad I went. Console Park was an awesome venue to watch a concert... it was very intimate, small crowd; I would recommend seeing a concert here.

i enjoyed the music, unfortunately my husband, a big BD fan, did not. he felt it was too loud, and the music all sounded the same. they had sound trouble during the dion performance. also, people continued to come in to be seated an hour into the performance, which was very distracting. another complaint is that after dion's performance, there was a gap in the show for about 45 minutes...not good.
but! even thought it was almost impossible to understand what dylan was actually singing (he's gravellyer than ever), the music was still good and the band great. so, our experience was certainly mixed!

even though this was the end of a long leg of his tour it was clear to see that the 68 yr old dylan still has the passion and energy to get on stage and perform. even though the songs may not be played or sang the way the were recorded, it is still amazing to see a living legend. most people in the crowd seem to be closer to dylan's age it was clear to see that his music speaks to all ages.

I have been a Dylan fan since I was a kid (and I am 51 now). But apparently I am just a poser because last night I did not recognize a SINGLE song that he played. I was so disappointed that I left before the encore. I know an artist wants to continue to create and not ride their laurels. BUT would it have killed him to play just one song from the good old days?
I will check Dylan off my list.

C'mon, it's Bob! He and is band of road warriors finished up their latest leg of The Never ending Tour in The City, as they did in 2006. The return of guitarist Charlie Sexton coaxed ol' Bob out from behind the keyboard for several numbers where he now sings (facing the audience) and jams on harmonica. Always reinventing himself. How can a legend still be a well-kept secret to most music fans who waste their money and time on washed up superstars recycling their work in stadiums.

At 68, and with very little of a single voice left, bob dylan still knows how to reinvent himself and enthrall the audience. His band, with Charlie Sexton back, has significantly improved from the last few years. The venue is stunning as well. Have seen BD regularly since 1966 and it never lags. Good to see so many young people in the audience, too

I know, I know, I'm making the same complaint people made 45 years ago when Dylan "went electric." Believe me, I love rock and roll. I love the blazing guitars. More than this, I actually love Dylan's aging voice. Sure, it's an acquired taste, but it has great character. But I could barely make out the lyrics, even of the songs I knew. They were just drowned by the volume. He's a master lyricist, but you have to buy his albums to really hear what he's saying. This is the third Dylan show I've been to in the last couple years, but I'm not sure I'll go again. It's just too frustrating! If I want loud rock and roll and don't care much for lyrics, there are a dozen artists I'd rather see.

I.M.H.O.,This was certainly the best Bob Dylan(and his band!!!) show that I ever saw. Being physically limited, its takes a big effort to get my carcass to one of these gigs..especially since at least most of the ten to fifteen times I saw Bob, half of the songs would be vocally indecipherable. Not This Time!!! Bob and His Band blew the cavernous United Palace away! BOB was Excellent!!(EverySong!!)! His band fantastic!! enough said. except... its great Charlie is back with band< and Kudos to his drummer extraordinaire (George Riceli) (?)...one of the planets best!! Tony, Stu, Donnie all exceptional..a GREAT SHOW!!! certainaly worth a repeat!!!Thanks Bob, and the band. The United Palace ROCKED!!!!!! Dylan was GREAT!!

Bob Dylan w/Dion @ United Palace - 11/19/2009
From Gonna Change My Way Of Thinking to All Along The Watchtower and everythig in between, Bob Dylan was at his best Thursday night. It was a great mix of recent bluesy Dylan with some rearranged oldies mixed in. Dion opened the show and he doesn't seem to age. A guy who used to open for Buddy Holly, and who is a native New Yorker, brought out his best songs and other rock n roll favorites.

This ranks in the top five of greatest concerts ever. The energy and the joy was apparent from the very beginning. Bob and the band played for over two hours, and never let up.

The best I've seen Dylan in years and I've seen him more than a few times. HIs voice was coming through, his harmonica was gorgeous, and his band was rocking, with Charlie Sexton at the helm! At 68, After 46+ years in the business, and who knows how many shows and tours, this guy, and his Band, were On it!
If it wasn't Dylan, I would've still said they were awesome!
