I have always wanted to see this band ever since I was in high school and I was so excited to see them finally perform live. I love their voices since it is so unique. My boyfriend who only listens to country music was blown away by the power of their voice and their music. He ended up enjoying the show and having a really good time. Their voice is amazing live and the way their tones are able to synchronize so well was wonderful to hear live. The diversity of their song choices is so neat to hear since they sing in Spanish, English, to Persian and Greek. Most groups only stick to one genre of music and that is it. At last a group to see that does not lip sync and can actually sing. Their voices are not digitally enhanced in the music studio so that when you do see them live its not a disappointment.

The sound at this concert was tremendous. I have attended other concerts at the Greek and the sound system didn't particularly impress - with Dead Can Dance it blew us away. Could have been the excellent voices of Lisa and Brendan, but nonetheless, quite special. I also like the light show - subtle, exciting and always interesting. Would love to have that electric backdrop in my living room.
I've loved the music on vinyl and CDs - live was superb. Just what you want with a live show.

Ever since I was introduced to Dead Can Dance, I never missed a show, including solo shows with Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry. They take their music to the highest caliber sounding just as great if not better than their studio recordings. They take their art seriously and emulate it through their performance. This was a perfect reunion and I pray to the higher powers that they continue to create beautiful worlds through music! I would pay top dollar to see this group and the venue Davies Symphony hall was the perfect venue for this experience. DCD, thank you for your inspiration and making this world complete!

Setlist: About half of the tunes were from the new album as far as I can remember (I'm still not familiar with the newer material) and there were several tunes that are fav's that were on "Toward the Within" @

This performance was absolutely astounding. Lisa Gerrard, Brandon Perry, and the rest of the band gave an awesome performance. Brandon's voice was strong, powerful, and right on par. Lisa hasn't lost a thing either, if anything time has made them even better than I remember from "Toward the Within". The opening performer also played with the band, he did 4 amazing songs on the Hang Drums. The only thing I would miss is having more acoustic instruments and less electronic versions of them. But then again DCD has always been a blend of the two. I especially liked seeing the iMac on stage LOL ... They did 2 encores and then Lisa came out for a 3'rd encore and did a beautiful song backed only by the keyboard player. I never wanted to leave. I could have stayed for another 3 hours of music.

Dead Can Dance was the best show I've seen in a long time. The venue, Symphony Hall in SF, was acoustically perfect and served the musical experience.
From the opening act to the fifth encore, I was completely mesmerized by the incredible talent being displayed.
I made special plans and flew from Las Vegas to SF to see this show. A true fan's dream trip.

I've been a DCD fan since the 80s, so this concert was a particular disappointment. The sound was so over amplified and muddy that you couldn't even make out the songs, and Lisa and Brendan's voices were totally lost. Especially considering that this was at Davies Symphony Hall, which has excellent acoustics, this was really inexcusable. It didn't help that the performers are rather aloof to their audience. We left after 3 songs it sucked.

Brendan was in his finest form, Lisa never lost her form and was simply brilliant, the young percussionist is fast and exciting. Only drawback was bringing the vocals forward, it was a wee bass heavy at first but improved. The performers were spot on...an inspiring show. Peter Roberts told me of this show a week ago, and he told me about them back in 1985 on his Sacred Cow BBQ show on KGLT-FM, after which I quickly became his intern and partner in public radio, playing DeadCanDance and the like for years.

Some might think that the music of Dead Can Dance would make for a boring concert experience, but hearing their stuff performed live is really thrilling. It fills you up and is like a dream. It's very cool to see them live on stage. Such beautiful and mesmerizing sounds. I saw them last year for the first time and was really bowled over. I will never miss them again when they come to town. And especially if they play an acoustically great place like Davies Symphony Hall. AND, as a side, the fashion show in the lobby was awesome - attendees dressed to the nines.

This was the best concert that I have ever been to bar none. The enchanting voices of Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry captivate me and they sound amazing even though they are 30 years into their musical careers with the band. The array of sounds, languages and cultures that Dead Can Dance master is truly amazing. Introducing the audience to new instruments and sounds make Dead Can Dance a truly unique band.

I saw Dead Can Dance in 2005 in Boston with a friend. They are remarkably unforgettable and extremely talented. My husband and I have listened to DCD for years. Seeing them live captivates you and brings you into another world. Her voice, his lyrics, and their music,they are exceptional! My husband and I flew to NYC to see them August 29,2012. He was swept away, and I expected nothing less than their outstanding performance once again. We did see Mr. Perry when he came to the Paradise in Boston last year and next month we will off to London to see them again. They're music is freeing to your soul! Thank You for all your hard work !!!!!! :) We truly appreciate both of you!
