Favorite moment: The crowd actually moved to the hypnotic sound of the great song "Love" @
Setlist: Nirvana, Big Neon Glitter, Love, Brother Wolf/Sister Moon, Rain, The Phoenix, Hollow Man, Revolution, She Sells Sanctuary, Black Angel, Electric Ocean, Wild Flower, Sun King, Rise, Dirty Little Rock Star, Fire Woman, Love Removal Machine @
Opening act(s): The Living Things? Who knows, we were there for The Cult! @
The Cult played the entire classic "Love" album and more hits to a mostly dead crowd at the House Of Blues in Cleveland on 11/9/09.
The sound was great, as guitarist Billy Duffy sounding as he does on the albums. The rest of the group, John Tempesta on drums, Chris Wyse on bass and Mike Dimkich on rhythm guitar backed up Billy perfectly.
The only problem is singer Ian Astbury, sings the lyrics as he sees fit, making it hard to sing along. Ian was channeling Jim Morrison with his full beard, and limited range of motion due to recent hip surgery. But his voice was as good as ever. I was suprised he didn't chastise the crowd more for their lack of enthusiasm.
It was sad to see a crowd so listless as rock legends played on tour for maybe the last time in their career.
