Costello's concert at the Beacon was a showcase to the genius that he is. Incredible performance by one of the most creative artists of today.
The new arrangements for traditional Costello songs, such as Allison and Blame it on Cain, coupled with the songs from the new album worked exceptionally well.
Costello is the King!

The Fraze Pavilion is a gem. The grounds, amenities, and staff were wonderful. If you have the chance to see a performance, DO! The set up resembles most concert pavilions, however, the scale is much smaller and the stage is raised about 3' off the ground, creating an intimate setting for any performance.
Elvis not only performed many of his newly composed works with The Sugarcanes, but did some wonderful renditions of his earlier work. Indoor Fireworks, (The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes, Everyday I Write the Book, King of America, and more. It was a fantastic evening leaving me with chills and teary-eyes.

I love Elvis' music, I have for quite some time. This was my second time to see him live, both at Nokia. He puts on a great show, sings well and shares a good amount of banter and joking. This performance would have been five stars except for two things. First, there was no opening act. Granted I came there to see EC but I like to get an idea of new acts too and a live performance is a great way to do that. Secondly, he played mostly new songs, when I found out that I was going to see EC and the Sugarcanes, I was really looking forward to hearing some of his older tunes rearranged as well as new stuff, however he mostly played new and several covers and a few selections from his previous country efforts (to which I'm not greatly fond).
All of this being said I don't to dump on him too much, I loved the show and even my wife, whom I drug along begrudgingly had a good time. Elvis always puts on a GREAT show.
