While Elvis has long dabbled in country-tinged tunes and blended them into his acts, this was the first show since Almost Blue to be composed entirely of country and bluegrass music. And it was done so convincingly, partly due to the excellent backing musicians, including James Lauder.
The set list drew heavily from the current album, and when old faves like Alison or Angels Wanna Wear My Red Shoes were included, they received the same roots-country arrangement. This actually suited them immensely, as much of My Aim is True had honky-tonk undertones anyway.
Elvis' voice was strong and clear, and the new material sounded even better live than on the record. Much more emotional in person. Acoustics were better than I remembered them at Nokia, but maybe it was just the high-quality sound setup Elvis brought.
Those who go solely on the expectation of Elvis' punk days may be disappointed. But that's a shame, because despite its departure in style, this is one of the best shows Elvis has ever done.
Odd side note- I found myself wishing, about 2 or 3 songs into it, that I had invited my parents. This might have been one of those rare occasions we could have enjoyed the same music!
Recommend this show highly - don't miss it.

Favorite moment: When I learned that Hidden Shame wasn't a Johnny Cash song literally, but was written by Elvis for Johnny Cash. @
Setlist: I actually got a setlist, but my husband took it to work. Sorry! @
Opening act(s): None and he starts promptly - so don't be late! @
